Impressive effort by Newsweek to rank US fertility clinics. The ranking, which lists the top 125 clinics nationwide, is compiled from four different sources: 1) an online survey of ~3,000 reproductive endocrinologists, infertility specialists, obstetricians/gynecologists working in and referring patients to fertility clinics, and other medical professionals (e.g., registered nurses, and laboratory assistants). Participants were asked to assess confidence in their assessment of the fertility clinics, which was used to determine individual weights for the recommendations; 2) an analysis of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) quality metrics published by the CDC; 3) accreditation data on the fertility clinics; and 4) patient satisfaction based on Google reviews. During the survey period, which took place in January and February, participants were asked to recommend facilities and assess the quality of diagnosis and treatment of fertility problems, fertility counseling, accommodation and service, and overall nurse staffing. This year, Google reviews were included in the scoring model, which was also adjusted to give increased weight to the ART quality metrics pillar.
For many folks planning to expand their families, fertility clinics can be a vital option. To help people locate the facility that suits their needs, Newsweek has partnered with Statista for the second annual ranking of America's Best Fertility Clinics, which lists the top 125 fertility clinics nationwide. https://lnkd.in/gYf4Yecj #BestFertilityClinics #FertilityClinicRanking #Top125FertilityClinics

The way we are building families is changing. How, when and who we create families with is evolving in response to the huge societal shifts that have taken place in the past 50 years. Female labour force participation and education levels have risen over the past half-century. This has led to fewer children, or having them later in life. You can also see this shift playing out in fertility treatment. Egg freezing is the fastest-growing fertility treatment in the UK. People are increasingly seeking help from fertility clinics to assess, understand, improve or prolong their fertility before trying to conceive. Fertility preservation services such as egg freezing are important as they give people information about their bodies and choices about their future. Kayleigh Hartigan, our Founder and CEO, spoke with SheerLuxe about what people need to know about egg freezing, the questions to ask and the considerations to bear in mind: “A female is born with all the eggs she will ever have, and these eggs, unlike skin cells, don't regenerate. They age, just like us. Freezing eggs protects them from the effects of further ageing.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eh_pRajd #EggFreezing #Fertility #Healthcare
