CEO, Founder @ Continuum.ai | First B2B Returns, Warranties & Repairs Network Distributors and Manufacturers
Modern Distribution Management (MDM) had a post last week talking about how Manufacturers are outpacing distributors in the rate of AI adoption. I actually blame (we) the AI and tech vendors for 2 main reasons: 1) Distributors don’t have the same free cash flow as manufacturers to be able to make speculative investments. Payback needs to be clear and and within a clear timeframe. If a solution can’t be deployed and value realized quickly it’s tough to justify. 2) not enough tech is built to solve root causes of supply chain issues. Solutions are built as a single instance with no intention of tying in manufacturers, shippers, end users ect. Well how valueable is single party data and single party insights? Payback needs to be clean and clear. Solutions need to connect supply chain.

Collaboration, visibility, and certainty are vital to #SupplyChain management in the #AutomotiveIndustry, and for a company to build trust. And all depend on intelligent processes, both within an OEM’s supply chain function and across the supply chain itself. However, our recent study shows that many automotive companies lack a sufficiently mature and intelligent supply chain to support data-driven decisions. They urgently need to invest in putting that right. Besides enabling trust, supply chain intelligence brings the agility to respond to supply chain disruptions, and the opportunity to integrate newer technologies such as AI and data analytics, among other benefits. Find out how you can create an intelligent, data-driven supply chain 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ewQWcwgu

One of the most important parts of supply chain management is accurately incepting the business logic and designing the production line in a precise and detailed schema. This ensures that the process is fine-tuned and tailored specifically for the company. Although this approach may take more time to achieve, it eliminates a significant amount of confusion and reduces the margin of error later on. Once optimization is achieved, the necessary elements can be integrated into the process. Subsequently, these elements can be automated using smart algorithms. Finally, AI can be employed to monitor and report the margin of errors at each stage, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.
