Architecture impacts not only the people that use it, but also the world around us as well. The community at Unitarian Universalist Society knew this when they set out to be the greenest church in Iowa with the help of Neumann Monson Architects. Iowa Architects are known for creating beautiful and resilient spaces. Read more about the impact of Iowa Architects at https://lnkd.in/gwDsQkVe #IAArchitectureMonth

RSVP for tickets to The LSA's upcoming panel discussion 'Will you still want me When I’m nothing new?' here: https://lnkd.in/e9aUvBBx The speakers will confront questions like: 🟢 What does architecture look like when professionals and the public intimately understand the elements that make up their buildings? 🟢 How does architecture change when its constituent parts are treated as specific objects rather than generic commodities? 🟢 How will the way we value materials change if we move beyond hierarchal historical concepts of material heritage? 🟢 Will we still want things when they’re nothing new? 12 February 2025, 7pm The London School of Architecture

The Virginia General Assembly Building is a beautiful restoration project on which we had the privilege of working and collaborating. Needing to be complementary to the original 1912 structure’s façade, a seamless match of color, finish, and profile alignment was required and critical to the project's success. Our architectural precast was designed to incorporate a large stonework pattern and was jointed to disguise joints and avoid disruptions in the pattern. Reminiscent of the Doric order of Greek architecture, some of the precast panels have architectural features like the guttae that can be found along the edge of various panels. The restoration of this historic piece of governmental architecture demonstrates how architectural precast can be used for new building façades in historic contexts. Architects: RAMSA | Robert A.M.
