Machine learning on your phone, leveraging custom silicon, with privacy links to secure, non-data-saving servers when processing needs more heft. And you can add third party models with “approve/disapprove” external data sharing. This is more than “AI”. It’s a machine learning ecosystem with multiple layers that empower the user when to share or not. For those wondering how to throttle AI and privacy, Apple has just shown us a model.

Apple Intelligence Although I have an iPhone and a Macbook, I wouldn't consider myself fully invested in the Apple ecosystem but the new Apple Intelligence has tempted me to upgrade my phone to the latest gen. Some cool things; We are seeing a lot of the known developments from AI at play here, from summarization/authoring, image generation, fact chasing, etc, the classic enhancements we see in other AI offerings. What is unique here is the way they stretch these capabilities throughout their Apple apps and ecosystem. However, what stands out most to Apple, i believe, is that they already have the hardware in place. Nowadays, people must first go out and find GenAI to begin playing with it - meaning you have to open an application, find a URL, or even buy a physical product with GenAI to even begin - with Apple adding this via an OS Update, they are putting AI in the hands of everyone who has a phone (so almost everyone, right?), the worlds smallest computer, that everyone stores on their person. This is a technology 'warp tunnel' into making everyday users more savvy and aware and COMFORTRABLE with AI being so close, and growing WITH us. Heres a quick wrap up of the info:
