Outside-in approach to product development My 'conversation' with Bard about Innovation approaches. (https://lnkd.in/gwNfEbWH) - you can read and continue the chat. I recently learned about how #Amazon and other companies like #Apple #Airbnb etc create innovative product / services. ✅ I like the JTBD (Job to be done ) Framwork. ▶ Be customer-obsessed. ▶ Keep the customer at the center of everything you do. ▶ Focus on the customer's job to be done. ▶ Design features that help the customer achieve their goals more effectively. ▶ Be data-driven. ▶ Use customer data to inform your decisions. ▶ Be agile. ▶ Be prepared to iterate on the product and make changes as needed. What is working well for your organization? #innovation

A few weeks back I had the opportunity to speak about the importance of Product roadmaps with Zarah Ibitomi from jupitar Academy. As it concerns the product development process, a strategic document needs to be developed which outlines the vision, direction, and progress of a product over time. Product roadmaps may looks different for every team and or company but when crafting a road map, there are important components you shouldn’t ignore like; ✨ crafting a vision and Strategy that clearly show case long-term goals and the approach to achieve them. ✨ Goals and Initiatives which highlights specific objectives and project plans to meet the strategy. ✨The good old Timeline that consists of Milestones and delivery dates for that product ✨ A detailed descriptions of what needs to be built in terms of features and requirements ✨ A way of measuring success, metrics and KPIs! Of course there is more that goes into creating a roadmap for your product or project but it is important to keep it flexible by incorporating agile principles and communicate with your teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in. . . . . #productroadmap #product #productmanagement #productmanager #speaker #techevents #womenintech #strategy #faang #tech #productdesign

I recently gave a talk at the La Product Conf Paris with Julien Bizet, Head of Experimentation at Fnac Darty, about the "top five reasons" why product teams avoid experimentation. I asked Product Leaders to rank these reasons from most to least accurate, and the top reason mentioned was: "It will slow down my delivery." To all product leaders: if you truly care about the impact of the features your product teams releases to your customers, you should see experimentation as an essential skill set for any Product Manager today, not just a nice-to-have. By experimentation, I mean not only A/B testing but also everything we do to ensure the successful release of new features and enhancements for our users. Think of experimentation as a comprehensive product methodology that includes feature flagging, progressive rollout, and targeted delivery methods. So, how do you get started with it? In this article, I share a few pieces of advice for Product Managers. Let me know your thoughts! #abtesting #experimentation #product #featureflag

8 new product spring launches ✔️ I'm excited to announce my latest new product development products that made it to shelves, both in-store and virtually, for SharkNinja! I worked on 8 new cost-effective retail-specific product SKUs to launch this year within Ninja's beloved blender lines. These were product refreshes and cost saving initiative products. But don't let that fool you! They were still a lot of work and extremely important to the overall business. Plus, I had the pleasure of managing 2 new innovation product launches at the same time as launching these 8 products. It was truly rewarding working with the cross-functional teams to design new modern products that are also a good value while hitting our performance and quality specs. It's always a pleasure seeing the team's hard work pay off after seeing the product on-shelf. Even when projects get tough, things always work out in the end. What new products are you excited to launch this year? #productlaunches #productdevelopment

𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 🇯🇵 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 , thinking we'll go visit historic sites, soak ourselves in 𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑛 ♨️, and eat sushi... Well, maybe...but we usually just hang out at my parents', enjoying more hands for taking care of the little ones. The cool thing though is kids and even me experience 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. We went to Ito-Yokado, a supermarket that sells from groceries to clothings. While my mother was doing groceries, we hang out kid's floors. Our kids picked belated Christmas presents from the grandparents there and has fun at the play area, which was pretty cool. One section had a whole bunch of interactive attractions with 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: ✅ The ball pit making water waves as you dive in. ✅ Monsters to through the balls at on the walls. ✅ The sandbox for landscaping and find hidden animals and treasures. It was so much fun for even adults! 💡 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬. Looking back my career, I hopped from an academic researcher, software engineer, startup product engineer, data scientist, then consultant for those. But I always had itches for building product, and have respect for those who pull things off so well. In 2023, Omar M. Khateeb and I released OmniCreator. The journey has just begun but the experience of building a product from zero already gave me so much satisfaction. I have only done software, but it would be great if I come up with a product that involves both software and hardware one day, just like those smart projectiin games. #entrepreneurship #softwareengineering #productdesign #japan

🚀 Skim the surface, dive deeply later! 🚀 On product development -- it's about speed, not perfect. Rapid Feedback: Treat your product as a draft, not a masterpiece. Your customers are the best editors. Two-Week Measure: Your product or idea should meet its first audience within a fortnight from birth. User Insights: The eureka moment isn't when the bulb lights up. It's when your users flip the switch. Love is Blind: Find a constructive critic for your product before you fall head over heels for it. Prototyping: Even the roughest of sketches can yield precious early insights. If no hi-res prototype, improvise. Bottom Line: External validation - Keep it early. Keep it frequent. It's your compass and safety net, all in one. Looking to ensure you're on the right product development path while avoiding expensive missteps? Get hands-on with rapid feedback. Your next step? Start today!

🥪🥣 A Culinary Adventure in Product Development - The Art of Iteration and User-First Innovation! 💡✨ Developing a product is like creating a finely crafted artisanal sandwich. 🥪 Each layer adds a unique flavor, and you taste-test along the way to ensure perfection. That's the essence of an iterative, user-oriented approach to product development. It's like adding ingredients to a soup – a pinch of user feedback, a dash of creativity, and a sprinkle of bug fixes. Stir it up, taste it, and see if it needs more zing or a tad less salt. 🥣 Make sure your users are the VIPs at the front seat, because they're the ultimate taste-testers! 😋
