"Wildlife Works is fully committed to the enhanced consistency and jurisdictional alignment that nesting offers. We've been proactively preparing for nesting for years, and we were excited to have the Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project be the first to issue credits under a jurisdictional program. This allowed us to adopt a more conservative nested baseline for the project's GHG accounting, superseding the original baseline and preparing for a smooth transition to a jurisdictional and nested approach." -Jeremy Freund, Chief Technology Officer at Wildlife Works. So far, local communities at the Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project have used their carbon revenue to build more than 20 schools and a hospital, to create fish ponds to improve food security, and to bring in solar-powered wells to reliably access safe drinking water. The coalition aims to accelerate landscape-scale rewilding, creating a wilder Europe that benefits both #PeopleAndNature. 🌍 By joining forces, the members of the new #RewildingCoalition agreed to amplify #NatureRecovery by: 🌱 accelerate rewilding on the ground 🙌 inspire and enable others to join the rewilding movement 📢 uniting to speak with a clear voice on rewilding-related topics 📈 aligning approaches, methodologies, principles, and positioning. 💡 sharing knowledge & expertise to maximise positive rewilding impact Rewilding Europe's Executive Director, Frans Schepers, emphasized the urgency to act now. The Global Mangrove Alliance is on a mission undertaking a crucial inventory of mangrove projects and policy efforts worldwide to protect and restore these vital ecosystems. Together with Mangrove Breakthrough, the Global Mangrove Alliance is committed to working with their members, partners, and extended network to achieve TNC’s ambitious 2030 Goals. 🔍 As these groups scale their efforts, they are seeking to identify all ongoing mangrove work. This will help them to maximize funding opportunities and prioritize investments and implementation support. 📝 The Global Mangrove Alliance’s 2024 Stock Take Survey is an opportunity to identify and connect viable projects with funding and training opportunities and to measure worldwide progress towards 2030 goals.
