Personal ownership means each one of us takes responsibility for our actions, decisions, and surroundings to ensure a safe work environment for ourselves and the team. Whether it’s double-checking equipment, following proper procedures, or speaking up about potential hazards, every action counts in creating a culture of safety. June is National Safety Month, and at Thomas Concrete, we take this time to strengthen our commitment to safety in every part of our company. Safety isn’t just a policy here; it’s a core value that ensures everyone goes home safe every day. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, acting quickly when safety issues arise. Our culture is built on empowering our plant managers and engaging all employees, ensuring that everyone knows what to do and acts without delay. Leading by example is key—whether that means wearing the right protective gear or taking the time to do every job safely. Our approach covers not only the workplace but also our homes and daily lives, creating a comprehensive safety mindset that encourages everyone to look out for their own well-being and that of their colleagues. As we mark National Safety Month, we'd like to share our efforts to create a safer workplace and continue our role as leaders in safety excellence. Stay tuned throughout the month as we share photos and details from various events across our divisions. We’ll highlight key safety practices, celebrate achievements, and keep safety a top priority. #NationalSafetyMonth #SafetyFirst #TeamThomas

Working safely in our industry 30, 40, 50 years ago was much different than it is today. -- Of course you always want to be #safe, but back in the day you did what was needed to get the job done. -- To be honest, this mentality is the backbone of what we do and why we're successful. -- However, in the industry today we are fortunate to have almost endless resources and equipment to "engineer-out" the risk and keep ourselves and others safe on the job. -- With these resources, there's no need to jeopardize safety in the name of getting the job done. -- Today, we can have our cake and eat it, too. #valuesafety #throwbackthursday
