Eurovent together with seven European Associations, has launched the joint Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Manifesto: ‘Good air quality must become a basic human right.’ Alongside our co-signatories, we emphasise the vital importance of IAQ for health, the economy, and future generations. We call on EU policymakers to: ➡️Recognise access to good quality air (including indoor air) as a basic human right. ➡️Give as high importance to “indoor air quality” as “ambient air quality” in EU legislation. ➡️Screen all EU policies and make ambitious proposals to ensure better IAQ in Europe.   The manifesto is co-signed by AMCA Europe, AREA, European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE), EVIA, Eurovent, REHVA, and GCP EUROPE. Tomorrow at lunchtime.. When it comes to IAQ, which is complicated, there are no silver bullets. There are no standards defining what is good or bad indoor air quality. Join the IWFM Ireland Region on this webinar where we will discuss approaches to cleaner indoor air, including advanced IAQ solutions like Needlepoint Bi-polar Ionisation, and see how it can be applied in a real-world as part of a multi-layered approaches to improving the IAQ.

The science of clean indoor air. Why bother bringing together Australian and international experts to discuss how we can use science and technology to inform the establishment of indoor air quality standards in Australia? Because we spend 90% of our time indoors, yet we don’t monitor air quality in our schools, workplaces, or anywhere. Outdoor air quality standards exist, so do water and food quality standards - we rely on them everyday and take them for granted. We don’t need to worry if our food and water are safe to consume. But what about the air we breathe? We know how detrimental poor air quality is to health, well being and productivity. We all have memories of the pandemic and bushfires that have compromised our air quality and our quality of life. This evening we heard about indoor air quality standards and regulations that have been implemented across countries across the world. Australia is lagging and it’s time we caught up. The good news is we have the scientific and technological solutions to monitor air quality and respond to compromised environments. We need political leadership and coordination across governments, portfolios and sectors to deliver what is a fundamental human right: to breathe air that is clean and safe. The science is understood The interventions are known. It’s time to address this long standing public health issue and reap the benefits.
