After Parties and Late Nights are a great event format that can really elevate a venue and connect with different audiences. Howie Schnee shares a ton of insights in this 15-minute interview all about After Parties. Some takeaways: 🥳 Target audiences that like to stay out late (probably not great for family events, but a great new use for a traditionally family-focused spaced. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium does a great job of this with their Late Nights at the Zoo). 🥳 Make it unique. Events are competitive. You can give yourself an edge by doing something unique. Go deeper for the fans or put a twist on something traditional. 🥳 Create partnerships. If booking talent isn't your strong suite, offer favorable terms to a local, well-connected promoter. 🥳 Support a cause the artist cares about. If you're piggy-backing off a big name performing nearby, consider supporting a cause they care about to improve relations with them and their fans. Howie dives into the details in the video below. Give Howie Schnee a follow too. He's often sharing great insights from his decades as a promoter.
The concept of the After Party is a topic that comes up a lot with venues and up-and-coming promoters. Howie Schnee, Co-Founder and President of CEG Presents [CEG Inc.], has been hosting wildly popular Phish After Parties in NYC since the 90's. He's also promoted many other After Parties in NYC, New Orleans during Jazz Fest, and elsewhere. Howie generously shares his insights and experience about what makes a great after party that will sell out and be... a great party. #venue #promoter #musicindustry #concerts #events

I stumbled upon a gem- a video from a sales conference in New Orleans. One memorable night, despite the rain, we created a magical experience as a live jazz band led a second-line procession to Preservation Hall. 💡 Entertainment is essential to your sales conference. It unites the event, creates shared memories, strengthens connections, and leaves a lasting impression. Here’s how to make your entertainment unforgettable: 1. Match the Entertainment to the Location Your conference’s destination is part of the story you’re telling. In New Orleans, it made sense to bring in local jazz bands. For a Nashville event? Think country music or honky-tonk vibes. 2. Focus on Energy Entertainment is about movement—both physical and emotional. A great band gets people out of their chairs, but it also energizes conversations. Whether it’s a band, comedian, or cultural performance, ensure it resonates with your audience and encourages participation. 3. Consider Timing Entertainment at a sales conference isn’t just about “fun.” It serves a strategic purpose. A high-energy band on the first night might break the ice and build momentum. 4. Rain or Shine, Keep the Spirit Alive The weather tried to rain on our parade in New Orleans—literally. But here’s the thing: the unexpected can turn into the unforgettable when you lean into it. Attendees loved how we embraced the moment, umbrellas and all. So, the next time you’re planning a sales conference, don’t just book a band—curate an experience. 🌟 🎤 What’s the best entertainment moment you’ve experienced at a conference or event? Drop it in the comments—I’d love to hear your stories! 👇 #EventPlanning #SalesConferences #EventEntertainment #NewOrleansVibes #EventProfs

New Post: Galantis Reflects on Career, Collaborations and More in Exclusive Q&A - https://lnkd.in/g9_2ag5F - This article was created in partnership with White Claw. Christian Karlsson, better known as “Bloodshy,” has been producing for almost two and a half decades. What started as producing and songwriting in Sweden quickly evolved into working with high-profile pop stars around the world. After landing on Galantis as his mainstay project, Karlsson has amassed over 6.6 billion worldwide streams and a No. 1 album on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with Pharmacy.Galantis has been busy over the years since its inception, playing venues and festivals across the globe and releasing four albums— most recently, Rx in May 2024, featuring collaborations with 5 Seconds of Summer, JVKE, Little MIX, MNEK and more. Ahead of his festival appearance in Chicago, Galantis delighted fans with a performance and intimate Q&A at the White Claw Shore Club Sessions Powered by Billboard. Get a glimpse into the international producer/DJ’s life and latest album Rx below. On his biggest hit “Runaway (U & I)”being a decade oldI still love to perform it and I still love working on it and changing it in terms of, like, doing mashups and stuff. I’m in a good position being an artist that could still change the song because in DJ culture, that’s something you’re supposed to do. So to me, I can always keep it fresh by just changing it for every night the way I want to perform it. On sharing his ADHD diagnosis with the worldIt’s scary, you know – I never talked about it with even family before, but other people came to me and helped me out by telling their stories. I thought I owed it to whoever, even if it’s one person, you know, I owe it to tell my story. On why Galantis has longevity in the music industryI think sticking to my guns, just doing music that I like, doing music that inspires me and taking risks and not listening to what anyone else is doing, you know? Not caring about if your stock is up or down, not following trends, whatever. I just go to the studio the same way I went to the studio when I was 14. It’s about that kick in the snare, and it’s about that chord, and it’s about that melody, and then that’s it. What a rush it was to take the stage at Washington’s during FoCoMX! I couldn’t see everyone in the house, but felt the energy — and the love! Thanks so much to Fort Collins Musicians Association and Washington’s for having us. We had a wonderful time (as did the audience, as I keep hearing good things from the community). When I first conceptualized the FoCo Motown Revue, I just wanted to get onstage while celebrating Classic Motown. Once I saw the overwhelming response to our shows, it became apparent that the band needs to be an ongoing concern. This is a 10-piece band. To keep it going, I realized that I’d need to take inspiration from Duke Ellington: “There is nothing to keeping a band together. You simply have to have a gimmick, and the gimmick I use is to pay them money!” So, I had to ultimately arrive at the conclusion that the band has to be run as a business (a side business, but a business nonetheless). That means defining who we are, what we’re about and how we’re going to engage with our audience. It also means building relationships in new spaces — especially that of corporate events. So, If you know of any event planners looking create compelling experiences with classic R&B, hit me up. #music #musicbusiness #fortcollins #corporateevents #eventplanning

The first half of this year has been incredible for Farrago's live music agency! With our new hire Louis Vellacott taking the helm, we've expanded our reach, partnering with amazing venues like Soho House & Co, Bubba Hospitality Group, and Brixton Jamm. While working with new pubs, we’ve discovered a key trend: many pubs post-pandemic are struggling with razor-thin margins (as low as 0.5%). Despite the potential boost in footfall and bar sales, many pubs hesitate to invest in live music. The challenge? Uncertainty. They worry about drawing enough of the local crowd to justify the cost of the musicians. We think we’ve found a couple solutions to this problem: 1) Free Drinks Promotions: We've partnered with Diageo (thanks to Emma Hamilton and the rest of the team) on free drink promotions at select pubs. This win-win-win strategy boosted pub attendance & sales while giving Diageo valuable exposure to a passionate music audience. 2) Tap into a Wider Music Community: Farrago goes beyond local crowds. We connect pubs with a network of music fans eager to discover new artists: the Farrago community. This expands their customer base significantly. Do you know a pub or venue that could benefit from the power of grassroots live music? Visit www.farrago.club/agency to learn more or reach out to us at info@farrago.club
Bulleit x Wolfpack x Farrago Throughout the month of April we ran ‘Sunday Sessions’ at Wolfpack Fulham. By booking a free ticket, customers were entitled to a free Bulleit Cocktail. Getting customers to sample Bulleit encouraged a large number of individuals reordering the cocktail. Here is a snippet of some of the amazing artists and cocktail on show! A huge shout out to Alan Hughes-Hallett and the Farrago team for helping with the music side of things, Grace Pearson for partnering with me on this and Paul for always being on board with new ideas!

Never thought I'd be sharing an article about Taylor Swift concerts on LinkedIn, but that's where I find myself this morning. One paragraph stood out to me a little more than others Swifties regarding some analysis in the UK. We continue to hear signs of consumers shifting their spending preferences from items to experiences. Another data point for wineries and DTC to ponder... "According to Tom Corbett, Global Head of Sponsorship at Barclays in the UK, the Eras Tour has highlighted the rise of consumers who are prioritizing spending their money on memorable experiences instead of spending on physical items." https://lnkd.in/gCSQGixi

My experience with the folks behind #alphaonthedelta fits the plug below... the bottom line is that the election of Trump creates an especially complicated financial landscape where the trend is no longer obvious and thus wisdom is in high demand.
Save the Date: Alpha on the Delta 2025 will be taking place from April 30 - May 2, returning for our third year and coinciding with the legendary JazzFest in New Orleans. How do you get butts in seats? 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱: TRUST. I recently had a client whose community knows, likes, and trusts her. The result? A mind-blowingly successful event, and when it was time to promote the next one—she sold 70 tickets in a month... 10 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵! All they knew were the dates and state. 𝗛𝗼𝘄? Trust and Integrity. Of course, having a solid promotion strategy is key, but beyond that, trust and integrity are what drive long-term success. People gravitate towards those who consistently deliver on their promises. Take a page from Taylor Swift's playbook—her fans pre-order albums, grab tickets, and invest in her vision without a second thought. Why? TRUST. They know whatever she does will be amazing, and she always follows through. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.
