The Challenge of CNG for Motorcycles | Bajaj Freedom 125 FAQ #6 CNG as a fuel poses challenges in performance, living with it and convenience. First, CNG isn't a powerful fuel, and it will always make you feel slow. For most Freedom riders, this is not a huge deal, but two-up, going up slopes, you'll feel it lacks performance. This is not a dealbreaker, but you should be aware of this before you commit. Second, CNG can be a bit inconvenient. You'll have to face long queues at the CNG pumps once there are enough Freedoms on the road. And every three years, they'll take the cylinder out of the bike for re-certification, which is a hassle, too. Third, while petrol is your backup fuel, there's no real way to tell how much petrol you have left, which means you'll be peering into the petrol tank a lot. While the bike will primarily run on petrol, riders will have the option to switch to CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) at the press of a button.
