The proposed township at North Western suburbs of Ahmedabad, besides Sabaspur village values inclusiveness, sustainability, and active communal life. Its well-considered architecture creates a harmonic union of contemporary conveniences and ecological awareness, encouraging urban life and environmental stewardship.Different zones, such as the calm Lake District and the busy Central Green, serve other purposes.Smooth connectivity is ensured by a network of public transport nodes, and the surrounding nature is complemented by inward-looking massing.A vibrant mixed-use centre is the centre of activity, and although semi-public open spaces promote contact, gated neighbourhoods offer seclusion.Vehicle traffic is restricted to the periphery, giving pedestrians convenience and safety priority.Every aspect of the township's layout, from renewable energy sources to green building techniques, incorporates sustainability.A designed neighbourhood is a shining example of a time when ecological harmony and urban living coexist. #urbandesign #masterplanning #masterplannedcommunity #township #urbanplanning #urbanliving #urbanism #urbanresilience

Greetings to all! I am excited to share my latest report done during the Urban Transformation Studio at the Faculty of Planning CEPT University, Masters in Urban Design - Sem 4 on the revitalization of Memnagar Gamthal, Ahmedabad, and its public realm! This in-depth study delves into the fascinating world of urban villages, exploring their transformation amidst growing urbanization. We examine these communities' unique spatial and social characteristics, analyzing global responses to their presence within cityscapes. A particular focus is placed on the relationship between urban villages and their associated lakes. The report sheds light on how urbanization impacts these crucial ecological features. Ultimately, it emphasizes the potential for a future where both the lake and the village can flourish together, paving the way for a redefined role for urban villages within the city. For those interested in the sustainable development and integration of urban villages in Ahmedabad, this report provides a comprehensive analysis and proposes a framework to guide this process. I sincerely thank Professor Umesh Shurpali, our studio instructor, for his unwavering faith in my abilities, insightful feedback, and continuous guidance, which laid the foundation for this exploration. #urbanvillage #ahmedabad #memnagargamthal #publicrealm #sustainability #cityplanning #lake #revitalization #urbandesign #urbanplanning

Compilation of 4 months work, Elements of Urban Design Studio. Semester divided into 3 modules explored and learn different elements of Urban design helps to enhance and improve the experience and usability of public spaces. Analysed the Vasna ward, Ahmedabad and identified the project issue - Rethink the Threshold of Public Buildings. In existing scenerio the public building edges and it's open spaces are underutilized because of it's opaque nature of compounds walls. By rethinking these edges and providing different activities at a prime location where buildings meet the edge and streets make pedestrian friendly, safe and offers space for all user groups. It helps to enhance the space throughout the day as well as night by balancing and considering all the multi modal user need of the community. #work #project #urbandesign #ahmedabad # #community #participatorydesign

Expansion of the Ahmedabad city agglomerates surrounding villages. Villages located on the periphery of the city one day are also part of the city. The unchecked urban development that’s engulfed villages because they are facing urban issues as the change and development at the periphery of the villages to the core of it. The poor institutional framework leads to unplanned growth. Gradually, agricultural land gets converted into urban land and there is a shift in the economy and institutional framework due to the negligence in the planning process that led to haphazard construction and deterioration in the quality of life. The centrally located urban villages face the issues of inadequate infrastructural services, isolated from the city and highly ignored by the authority. This whole process of transformation from rural village to urban villages should be dealt with differently considering the dialogue with the inhabitant of the villages. This study identified the issues of the urbanized village is phasing and that learning is applied in the urbanizing village. #architecturethesis #UGthesisproject https://lnkd.in/dDPPsWs3 #learning #change #transformation
