KEY QUALITY METRICS | Part 1 ========================= 1. Quality Rate What It Is: This tells us the percentage of products or services that meet quality standards. How to Improve: · Train employees regularly on what quality means. · Keep clear procedures in place for everyone to follow. Why It Matters: · Happy customers love high-quality products! · Helps pinpoint where we can do better. 2. Rework Percentage What It Is: This measures how many units need fixing to meet quality standards. How to Improve: · Set up quality checkpoints during production. · Equip employees with the right training and tools. Why It Matters: · Cuts down on extra costs from reworking. · Makes the whole process more efficient. 3. Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) What It Is: This counts how many defective parts are produced per million. How to Improve: · Regularly check and inspect production processes. · Use data to spot trends and issues. Why It Matters: · Helps us compare against industry standards. · Tracks how our quality improves over time. 4. Defects per Million Opportunities (DPMO) What It Is: This shows the number of defects per million chances for defects to happen. How to Improve: · Use methods like Six Sigma to improve processes. · Train employees on best practices to avoid errors. Why It Matters: · Gives a complete picture of quality. · Helps focus on the most critical areas for improvement. 5. Process Capability (Cp) What It Is: This measures how well a process can produce items within set limits. How to Improve: · Review and tweak process controls regularly. · Investigate variations to keep things consistent. Why It Matters: · Shows how well we can meet quality specs. · Helps make smart decisions for adjustments. 6. Process Capability Index (Cpk) What It Is: This looks at how close a process is running to its limits, considering both the average output and variation. How to Improve: · Keep an eye on process performance to catch shifts early. · Foster a culture of ongoing improvement. Why It Matters: · Provides a clearer picture of how a process performs. · Helps identify urgent and long-term improvement needs. #quality #qualitymetrics #qualitycontrol #qualityassurance #leansixsigma #sixsigma #qualityrate #rework #defectivepartspermillion #defectspermillionopportunity #processcapability #processcapabilityindex Follow Shakehand with Life | Narender Sharma for more valuable content Credit: Poonath

Fascinated by how quality control methods can dramatically transform a business, but not sure where to start? I'm diving into the 7QC tools and how they fit into the PDCA cycle. It's amazing how these structured approaches take the guesswork out of problem-solving! Over the next few days, I'll break down some of the most common tools and how they pinpoint waste, defects, or customer dissatisfaction. Let's get specific! Is inaccurate data hindering your decision-making? Do you see the same problems cropping up repeatedly? Need to pinpoint exactly where in the process things go wrong? Tell me which QC tool would make the biggest difference for you: * Histograms * Pareto Charts * Control Charts * ... Or another one in the toolbox? Drop your choice in the comments! 👇 #qualitycontrol #7QCtools #PDCA #processimprovement #qualitymanagement #continuousimprovement #leanmanufacturing #sixsigma

Feeling Overwhelmed by Quality Control Errors? You're not alone. But what if I told you there's a powerful tool that can help you fix 80% of your quality issues by focusing on just 20% of the root causes? The Pareto Principle (also known as the 80/20 rule) is a game-changer for quality professionals. This principle reveals that a few key causes are responsible for the majority of errors plaguing your processes. Ready to conquer errors faster and work smarter? The Pareto Principle can be your secret weapon! Share your experiences with quality control errors in the comments. What are your biggest challenges? What are some strategies you've used to address them? Let's leverage the power of the Pareto Principle together! #ParetoPrinciple #QualityControl #QualityManagement #LeanManufacturing #SixSigma #ProcessImprovement #ErrorReduction #ContinuousImprovement #DataAnalysis #QualityProfessional #Manufacturing #ISO9001

Quality Objectives or Key Performance Indicator (KPI). Some companies use different term such as Indicator, Metric, Key figure. I try to make very simple example of KPI which can fulfill the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 clause 6.1 about the planning to achieve that. Usually company has many KPIs, but lack of activity how to achieve them. So during Management Review (clause 9.3), they discuss the same problem with same activities which maybe not effective enough. Activity Plan will help you to achieve the KPI target, and identify which activity is not effective or not relevant, so you need to think other possibilities. Another common situation is when you want to renew your KPI target for next period. Some use Jan-Dec period, some use fiscal year such as Jul-Jun or Apr - Mar. At first look at your average and trendline. Second, compare it to target line. Then you can define your new period target and whether you need to establish: a. CORRECTIVE ACTION, if your performance is still below target. b. PREVENTIVE ACTION, if you want to maintain the level because for some reason, such as limited resources, new project implementation, new system. c. IMPROVEMENT, if you already achieve target and want more challenging target. This system is very useful for any management system you have to implement. Happy share. #QualityObjective #KPI
