Environment Determines Growth The lid on the jar conditions the flea to under achieve. You may have heard this story before. A flea placed inside a jar will very quickly learn its limitations and begin to jump with less enthusiasm. After spending some time in the jar it becomes conditioned to jump just short of the lid to avoid the pain of hitting its body against it again and again. Once this conditioning has happened, the lid can be removed, and although the flea is more than capable of jumping out the jar, it does not. Our environment can limit our growth. If we are constantly rubbing shoulders with negative, small- minded people, we too will become just like them. It is true that a fish remains small if it is placed in a small pond but can grow to its full size if left to enter the ocean. You and I need to be careful that we avoid that natural tendency to be a big fish in a small pond. Is your chosen environment limiting or stretching you? How? #Inspiration #MondayMotivation
