As we approach Halloween, I’m reminded of one of our fav events from a couple of years back, we had the pleasure of producing a thrilling Halloween event for Wakefield BID that transformed the town centre into a spooky spectacle. The event was packed with activities for all ages: 🚂 A ghost train weaving through the heart of Wakefield 👻 All manner of scary walk-abouts, fire eaters and more 🛍️ A pop-up shop featuring eerie selfie rooms, crafty workshops, and theatrical actors bringing the scares 🌙 As night fell, scare actors invaded local pubs and restaurants, giving patrons a Halloween experience they won’t forget! These types of events bring incredible value to town centres, and here are just a few of the benefits: 1. Boosts Foot Traffic and Local Economy – By drawing in crowds for unique experiences, events like this drive footfall to the area, increasing visibility and sales for local businesses. It’s a win-win for the entire community. 2. Enhances Community Engagement – Offering diverse activities encourages families and individuals of all ages to participate, fostering a sense of belonging and revitalising the town’s social atmosphere. 3. Showcases the Town as a Destination – A well-executed event creates a buzz that extends beyond the local community, attracting visitors from neighbouring areas and reinforcing Wakefield as a vibrant and cultural hotspot. It was such fun to see Wakefield come alive for Halloween! 🕸️💀 #EventProduction #BID #HalloweenEvent #TownCentreRevitalisation #CommunityEngagement #EventMarketing #ExperienceEconomy #SpookySea

What benefits do you think come from investing time in community?
Community! Who else has been spending time building and aligning with their community? A LOT of you, it is a keyword that comes up over and over again - no matter what demographic or industry. Like you, supporting our community is important to us at Pixels & Scribbles, LLC as business owners and as individuals. We love our small town of Rice, Texas. One of the ways we show our support is using our skills to promote community events - especially the annual Fall Festival & Street Dance benefitting the Rice Volunteer Fire Department (the only rescue we have). We have big goals this year, and can't wait to share the highlight video afterward! 📷 : current FB promotion for the Rice Fall Festival & Street Dance by Pixels & Scribbles #community #socialmedia #digitalmarketing

🌟 **A Gentle Reminder of the Power of Small Businesses** 🌟 As small business owners, we know firsthand the challenges and rewards that come with entrepreneurship. Our collective strength lies in supporting one another to ensure our businesses not only survive but thrive. One of my favorite sayings is: *“Charity starts at home.”* It’s a powerful reminder that we should spend our money where we expect our income to come from. Investing in local businesses strengthens the entire community, and that’s how we all grow together. Let’s continue to uplift, collaborate, and champion the local economy—because when one of us wins, we all do. #SmallBusinessSupport #BuyLocal #CommunityFirst #Entrepreneurship #TogetherWeThrive

Omaha, situated along the Missouri River near the Iowa border and stretching to the Elkhorn River, has a rich history dating back to humble beginnings. Here are some interesting facts about Omaha's early days! Informally established on July 4, 1854, at a picnic on Capital Hill (which is now the site of Omaha Central High School), Omaha later became the starting point for the transcontinental railroad, as decided by President Lincoln in 1862. This led to the formation of the Union Pacific Railroad. Although the territorial capital was Omaha, it was moved to Lancaster (later renamed Lincoln) after Nebraska became the 37th state in the union on March 1, 1867. Omaha's Union Stockyard Company was founded in 1883 and became a revival of Chicago's Union Stock Yards, dominating the nation's largest livestock market and meat packing industry until the 1990s. Dubbed "The Gateway to the West," Omaha hosted The World's Fair in 1898 and became a crucial transportation hub due to its central location. Today, it is the largest city in Nebraska and home to four Fortune 500 companies: Berkshire Hathaway, Mutual of Omaha, Kiewit Corporation, and Union Pacific Corporation. If you're looking for things to do in Omaha, there are plenty of options to choose from! Check out some of the city's top attractions, including the famous Henry Doorly Zoo, Lauritzen Botanical Gardens, The Durham Museum, Joslyn Art Museum, and Kaneko. The dining scene is also diverse, with many talented chefs serving up almost every kind of cuisine across the city. For recommendations, we suggest following the Omaha Food Lovers page on Facebook. Omaha is also home to many local businesses across all industries. Some of our favorites that serve the Omaha Metro Area include Badger Custom Construction, Omaha Blue Waves Martial Arts & Fitness, Pat Zimmer with Heritage Financial Services, West Mortgage Group with Fairway Mortgage, Omaha National Title, DnTree, The Lantern Boutique, Castle and Associates with American Family Insurance, Signature Property Inspections, Eshelman Chiropractic, and Allied Heating and Cooling. Additionally, Omaha features many parks and recreation areas, such as golf courses, pools and spraygrounds, dog parks, skate parks, and pickleball courts. For entertainment, check out The Steelhouse, The Rose Theater, The Omaha Community Playhouse, The Orpheum Theater, and The Holland Performing Arts Center. Lastly, the city is home to several public school districts, including Omaha Public Schools, Westside Community Schools (also known as District 66), Millard Public Schools, and Elkhorn Public Schools.
