Aboriginal Participation in Sydney Harbour Zone LED Upgrade Our commitment to safety is evident in the LED Street Lighting Upgrade Project. This initiative highlights our dedication to creating meaningful partnerships and driving positive change in our community. Led by Cesar Carrasco Valdivia, Project Manager at ConnectSydney, it shows mutual respect and a shared goal of excellence. A key part of this project is our collaboration with Daen Connect, led by Raymond Toomey, and Paul Newman, Indigenous Director at Southern Cross Pacific, who managed the traffic management during these upgrades. With over 15 years of experience in high and low voltage power line infrastructure, Daen Connect has seamlessly integrated into our projects, significantly contributing to the development of First Nations businesses in the ITS space. Paul Newman praises ConnectSydney's culturally appropriate approach to working with Aboriginal businesses. He stresses the importance of building strong relationships and enhancing capabilities for sustainable growth. Gregory Davison, our First Nations Participation Lead, emphasises, “We have made a strong commitment to engage in the Aboriginal business sector as well as to reconciliation. It has to be meaningful, and it has to be backed up with action, and that's what our leadership group does well.” We pursue these goals with a vision for transformative change. Through meaningful engagement, identifying growth pathways, and a steadfast commitment to shared goals, we are improving project delivery standards and making a positive impact within our community. The LED Street Lighting Upgrade Project showcases our dedication to safety, inclusion, and integrity. It also brings significant sustainability benefits, saving 542,765 kWh of electricity annually. Transitioning our buildings away from using gas is an important step to reach net zero. It's tough to do in a live operating commercial property, but it's possible. This is the milestone we’ve achieved at The Point after the successful culmination of three years of hard work – and the rewards are substantial. Tightening regulations like #MEES have been driving improvements in #EPC ratings for non-domestic buildings across central London and other UK markets. But hitting that big B (or higher) usually requires addressing significant features like heating systems. That’s exactly what we learned back in 2022 through early scenario modelling (provided by our trusted assessors at MEES Solutions Ltd). Integrating technology into retrofits optimises building functionality and cost efficiency, ultimately elevating the user experience. But beyond legislative compliance and carbon reduction gains from retrofitting, the rewards include enhancing health outcomes and catalysing industry transformation by bolstering green job opportunities. Our achievement at The Point exemplifies our commitment to active asset management and innovation. We're happy to share our story and compare notes with anyone interested – I’ll sure be making a shameless plug at the upcoming BE News event on navigating the EPC minefield! 🌟
📣 The Point in Paddington has achieved an EPC B rating! ⚡ Our brand new air source heat pumps make the building fully electric, with all our energy coming from renewable sources. See below behind the scenes video of the plant replacement! 🏗 This commitment to sustainability aligns with Tishman Speyer's desire to offer visionary, future-proof workspaces alongisde premium design and amenities. Our uncompromising focus on ESG sets The Point ahead of regulatory targets in terms of energy performance, in line with our customers' expectations. For leasing opportunities, please contact Elliott Schires, James Taylor, Ed Arrowsmith, Nick Rock, Charles Walker, Harriet De Freitas and Ellie Symons. Let's redefine the future of work together! #ESG #sustainableoffice #Paddington #EPC #TishmanSpeyer

The Project Compass is an exclent tool to scope out what is important to the developement team and set project goals.
SERA Sustainability Manager Beth Lavelle writes on our blog about how SERA's Project Compass helped define and focus sustainability goals with client Killian Pacific on The Jackstraw project–the first multifamily project in Bend that is on track to achieve LEED Platinum. "The Project Compass is a tool we developed that graphically depicts client priorities and project objectives in a circular layout with three categories of performance: 🌎Resource management 🌎Human health and well-being 🌎Sustainable placemaking The market standard is at the center, with three performance levels radiating outward—symbolizing good, better, and exemplary performance. Every project’s Compass is unique to the place, client, and project opportunities. #leedplatinum #sustainability #centraloregon #urbandevelopment Killian Pacific PAE https://lnkd.in/eqtK2g-b

I know this is going to sound indescribably dorky, but I love our Project Compass tool. It's a really elegant, fun way to organize all the factors that can be part of a project's performance strategy—and of understanding how less obvious considerations, like biophilic design elements and community engagement interweave with those power and water goals. Like all good tools, I think it probably reveals more about the people working with it than anything—so in the hands of a passionate, insightful leader (like, say, Beth Lavelle), it's a glorious discovery tool! (see, I warned you... dorky!) #designforhumans #sustainabledesign

San Bernardino County, the largest U.S. county by landmass, is undergoing a green transformation with two key projects. 🌎 Frontier Communities, led by Andrew Wennerstrom, is crafting Vasari at Ventana, an 80-acre luxury community within Ventana at Duncan Canyon. This aligns with the rising demand for upscale housing, catering to remote professionals steering away from coastal cities. Concurrently, Clearway Energy Group invests $1 billion in a 394-MW solar array and battery storage system in Dagget near Barstow. This exemplifies the county's commitment to renewable energy, repurposing an old gas-fired plant. James Kelly, Clearway's senior director, underscores the seamless collaboration with county authorities, emphasizing state support. The project not only promotes a cleaner environment but also brings economic benefits, generating local jobs and fostering the shift to clean energy and storage. ALE applauds these sustainable initiatives, supporting a future where communities thrive on green energy solutions. We eagerly anticipate the greener future of San Bernardino County! 💚🔋 https://bit.ly/49sC5jY #CleanEnergyFuture #SustainableDevelopment #ALEsolutions
