Beyond Hands-On: The Maitland Philosophy Darren Earnshaw, PT, MMT, Cert. MDT, COMT, FAAOMPT, MAPS Senior Faculty Advisor, shares a powerful reminder. Maitland isn't just about Manual Therapy. It’s a PATIENT-CENTRIC AND EMPATHETIC approach based on CLINICAL REASONING. In a recent case involving a patient with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CPRS), Darren explains that Geoff Maitland's approach transcends traditional methods, embracing a holistic, PATIENT-FOCUSED strategy. 💡Maitland's legacy is not just in its techniques, but in its philosophy of continuous learning and ADAPTING. It's a mindset that challenges clinicians to think laterally, to question their thinking, and to learn from and grow with their patients. Maitland is more than a method. It's a movement towards comprehensive, empathetic, and holistic patient care. 📚 Want to master this COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH to Physical Therapy? Join us at one of our next courses and experience the power of CLINICAL REASONING in action. 🔗Check out our Course Schedule: https://lnkd.in/grTiuz8v Darren Earnshaw: https://lnkd.in/eF4HrZn8 #MaitlandApproach #ClinicalReasoning #PhysicalTherapy #PatientCentricCare #OZPT #Clinicalexcellence #EvidenceBasedPractice#OrthopedicManualTherapy #ChoosePT

⚡️Let's talk sweet spots for sensory and motor stimulation! We recently discussed patient success stories, training, and Ampcare practices with @madelinewilliams.slp, an Ampcare-certified SLP! 👀Watch the video to find out what Madeline has to say about the ranges she's found to be effective for sensory and motor stimulation. 🚨Spoiler alert: the number doesn't matter...as long as you're getting that motor stim! Madeline's patients' sweet spot was 8 on ESP 1 or 40 milliamps...an intensity not achievable on other FDA-cleared electrical stimulation devices. If you're TIRED of guessing what you should do to help your patients see REAL results, then join the thousands of SLPs who are leveling up their therapy skills with Ampcare! "Physical therapy? I know what it is. It didn’t work for me." It pains me to hear this from people whose experience with physical therapy was limited to massages, stationary bikes, and exercises that felt purposeless and ineffective. Physical therapy is so much more than that. It’s a science dedicated to restoring the human body's function. When my patient's neck pain reduced to a 1/10 during my first year, I felt like I knew 80% of physical therapy. When a stroke patient walked without limping after 8 weeks of therapy in my third year, I was in awe and thought I knew 60%. When a patient with Multiple Sclerosis, who fell at least three times a week, reported no falls for two weeks during my fifth year, I was amazed by the transformative power of physical therapy and felt like I knew 40%. Recently, I discovered Visceral Physical Therapy through colleagues. The idea that physical therapy could address visceral pain was eye-opening. I am still learning the scope and power of physical therapy. Motivated by my lingering post-surgery abdominal pain, I signed up for a course to learn more. My journey has taught me that surgery is not the end of treatment but the beginning of a journey toward therapy, self-care, and overall well-being. I’m excited to apply this new knowledge to help myself and, eventually, others suffering from visceral pain. Here’s the course I'm diving into:

What does a Voice CF’s life look like when they AREN’T in an academic voice center? Follow me around for a peek into my Friday! If you are looking into applying for Voice Center CFs, my day may look a little different than yours, that’s because: -I am the only full time SLP at my clinic, so my supervisor is not always on site, this is different than most voice center CFs. -My laryngologist’s clinic days include both voice patients and general ENT patients, so I have slots throughout the day where I go and consult. This is different than some voice centers, where the SLP is helping assess and sometimes performing stroboscopy all day! Other than the fact that I’d like to be performing more stroboscopy than I’m currently able to, I have no preference one way or the other in terms of scheduling. All of this depends on the model that your laryngologist chooses to follow. • Disclaimer: My content is not intended to be a substitute for the medical advice of a health professional.
