National Arts In Education Week was passed by Congress in 2010, but research continues to show that schools in major urban or rural communities, and schools with student populations that are primarily Black, Hispanic, or Native American are LESS likely to have access to quality arts programming. (Arts Education Data Project) National Arts In Education Week serves as a reminder to spotlight the immense benefits of arts education and advocate for equitable access across all communities. It's a call to action for our elected officials and educational leaders to ensure every student can experience the positive impact arts education. Curious about how arts education equity impacts students or how we can help? Post your question below! #ArtsEducation #EquityInEducation #NationalArtsInEducationWeek #SupportTheArts

There are few things as effective as valuing and teaching the arts that allows humans to develop creative expression and see the unique perspectives and vision they bring to life.

2023 was a banner year for Babson College and entrepreneurship education. Babson was named the 10th best college in the United States by The Wall Street Journal and retained our place atop U.S. News & World Report’s entrepreneurship rankings for the 27th and 30th consecutive time at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We also eclipsed the $500 million mark of our ambitious campaign and now elevated our goal once again to a total of $750 million. These rankings and the generosity of our donors, alumni, and friends signal that the world is recognizing and validating the power of entrepreneurial leadership. As our world faces numerous challenges and continuing social divide, #EntrepreneurialLeaders can play a distinct role in bridging gaps and impacting communities around the world. Entrepreneurial leaders think beyond what it takes to start a business. Being an entrepreneurial leader is about building relationships and remaining open to new ideas and ways of thinking. While that thought process is crucial in the business world, it has endless promise to impact how we lead and treat one another, too. Entrepreneurial leadership—promoting innovative thinking and seeing no challenge as too big to overcome—has untold potential to bring people together, no matter our differences. It's my hope that in 2024, more people will understand and embrace #EntrepreneurialLeadership and recognize that anyone can be an entrepreneur. Doing so will allow communities around the world to see the challenges facing society as opportunities to unite for a better tomorrow. Whether that manifests in new ways of approaching sustainability or championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, or it leads to new and innovative technologies and applications of artificial intelligence that solve big and small problems, the world will benefit from an influx in entrepreneurial leaders.
The first sunrise of the new year at Babson College! Happy 2024 to all our community members.

From "at-risk" student to Communications & Marketing Leader. Championing for education, disability rights, and vulnerable students. Currently, a part-time Chief Communications Strategist at GlobalMindEd.
In just 2 hours, I crafted a video entirely on my iPhone—from scripting to filming and editing. Here's how: •Crystal Clear Vision: I started with a precise idea of the message and atmosphere I wanted to convey, laying a solid foundation for the project. •Efficient Coaching: Quickly and effectively guiding those on camera ensured smooth filming and captured the essence of the message. Their willingness to participate was crucial. •Strategic Equipment Use: Leveraging affordable gear like $15 wireless lapels from Amazon and using cinematic mode on my iPhone, I achieved high-quality results without breaking the bank. •Intelligent Editing Decision: Editing in Canva seamlessly integrated branding elements, typography, and color schemes, resulting in a cohesive and professional video. •Action-Oriented Approach: By diving in without overthinking, I embraced creativity and spontaneity, leading to a fast and effective production. While not professional-grade, the video served its purpose effectively. Though lacking the polish of a professional studio, the video's effectiveness and quick turnaround highlight the importance of resourcefulness and maintaining standards in communication. Even with limited tools, it's possible to convey messages effectively and impactfully.
A special welcome to new students and families! We're thrilled to have you join us for the 2024-2025 school year. We can't wait to meet you all and embark on this exciting journey together! See you soon! #NewBeginnings #StAnnesCommunity

Leading with Purpose and Unwavering Humanity for All. Challenging the Status Quo. Elevating the Customer Experience | LinkedIn Top Voice in Customer Service Training and Customer Service Management
Not what I planned on posting about today but... 4 years after changing the school names that honored Confederate leaders, the Shenandoah County school board voted to change them back. Mountain View High School and Honey Run Elementary School will return to be known as - Stonewall Jackson High School and Ashby-Lee Elementary School. 3 men who fought to protect the institution of slavery in the United States. And it will cost the school district approximately $300,000 to make the changes. In 1860-61 South Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, and Texas all presented "declaration of causes" for their secession from the United States and formation of the Confederacy. All included statements regarding slavery, including this one from Mississippi: "Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery—the greatest material interest of the world." The State of Texas complained against the northern states: "They have encouraged and assisted thousands of our slaves to leave their homes; and those who remain, have been incited by emissaries, books, and pictures to servile insurrection." This is only one county, in one state - we shouldn't generalize this as being a representation of the entire country - BUT, we shouldn't underestimate it's representation either. Open your eyes. #humanity #challengethestatusquo #ethicalleadership #slavery

Lynwood Superintendent Gudiel Crosthwaite calls on our state leadership to fundamentally change how school facilities are funded so that all students have access to the facilities they need and deserve to focus on their education. Learn more: 👇 California students urgently need school facility funding from the state to modernize outdated and unsafe facilities. We must pass an education bond this year because there are billions of dollars in unmet needs. In moving forward with a much-needed education bond, however, it is crucial that our state legislature and the Newsom administration first fix the inequitable and unconstitutional system of school facility financing in California. Currently, low-wealth districts receive substantially less state facility funding per student compared to their higher wealth counterparts—even though they have greater modernization needs from compounded disinvestment from the state, and less ability to raise local funds. Through this system, wealthy school districts can build theaters and STEM labs and pools. But low-wealth neighborhoods, who have been historically ignored and underinvested in—who need more funds to meet the needs of their students—are stuck using what funds they have to repair HVAC systems and maintain the conditions of their existing buildings. The result is an unequal and unconstitutional system in which students in low-wealth districts receive an education inferior to that of their peers in higher-wealth districts. “My Mummy works in a school, but she's not a teacher” – my daughter, aged 7. This got me thinking, how do I explain to my 7-and 4-year-old what I do? Answer Attempt #1: Mummy is a Storyteller. Pretty accurate, right? One aspect of my role is having the responsibility of capturing and sharing the essence of my schools through narratives, experiences, and moments. Together with my team, we weave stories of our students, staff, and the school itself, highlighting achievements, challenges, and aspirations. And through storytelling, we bring life to the values, culture, and identity of our school, helping others to understand and connect with what makes us special. It's about painting a vivid picture of who we are and the impact we have, one story at a time. That’s why I am incredibly proud to share the launch our Create Your Story campaign, where authenticity became the guiding principle of our brief. Too often, we see marketing efforts focus solely on showcasing facilities, products or numbers neglecting the authentic stories that breathe life into statistics. Our mission was clear: show, don't tell. Go take a look, let me know what you think. https://lnkd.in/ecYQUgNk #CreateYourStory #BrandStory #CreativeCampaigns #StrategicStorytelling
As Hampshire's leading academic 3-18 independent day school, we believe in more than just informing families about what our schools offer. We want to show you who we are. We are proud to share with you our Create Your Story campaign, a collection of 70 genuine and authentic narratives that reveal the true character of our schools. Uncover the diverse passions and love of learning through stories told by those at the heart of our community: the children at Stroud, pupils at KES, and our remarkable staff. Both King Edward's and Stroud are committed to fostering an environment where every child's journey can flourish, providing opportunities to create their own unique story. Ready to be inspired?
