[40] Google Sheets tops our list of most-used Destinations, followed closely by Postgres and SharePoint (Excel). When we started Nekt, we didn’t expect sheets to grab so much attention, but after speaking with countless companies this year, it makes perfect sense. What’s the use of a data platform if you can’t easily get data into everyone’s hands? Our Google Sheets Destination solves that by taking a dataframe and delivering it straight to a specified sheet based on a trigger—Scheduled, Event-based, or Manual. This allows you to consolidate data and send it to the right team in a familiar format, where they can take immediate action. In today's video, I’ll walk you through setting up a Google Sheets Destination to send data from a consolidated table. The most common workflow looks like this: 1️⃣ Extract data from multiple sources (Sources) 2️⃣ Consolidate it into a new table (SQL or Spark Transformation) 3️⃣ Schedule the Destination to send the data every day at X hour (Destination) That way, everyone pulls from the same source without anyone having to run early-morning queries, export tables, or email spreadsheets around. It’s all automated. If someone at your company is spending most of their time running SQL queries and sending data around, you might be underutilizing their potential. Automate that process with a few clicks, and let your team focus on what really moves the needle. This is post #40 in a series I’m writing while building a startup. Catch up on posts 1-39 by checking the hashtag #nektjourney. On to the #nekt one! 🎯

Power BI is not only for visualization/dashboard!!! Learn more on: 👉Power Query: To clean, transform, wrangle your data etc. 👉Data Source connections: Learn to connect to other sources (SQL, sharepoint, web etc) apart from Excel/csv and also changing/integrating new sources Data modelling practice: Learn Fact & Dimension Table, creating relationship, cardinality to ensure your model is standing on solid foundation. DAX: CT, CC, Measure, RLS to enhance your visual/dashboards Other Elements: Drillthrough, Bookmarks, Slicers etc for interactivity and easy navigation. Let's start with source connection: The Excel file you want to load straight to Power BI, do it like this instead: 1. SQL: 👉Load the Excel file to the SQL flavor on your system. 👉Connect your Power BI to SQL to access the same data. Same Excel, same data, but different connection. Watch this: https://lnkd.in/ekWfYDuC by Olanrewaju Oyinbooke 2. Sharepoint: Through your Microsoft account, you have a sharepoint. 👉Load the Excel file into sharepoint 👉connect your Power BI to sharepoint. Same Excel, same data, different connection With sharepoint you have 2 options: a. Connect to sharepoint directly b. Generate a web link from sharepoint and connect as web(Get data 👉Web 👉paste link and connect) Watch this: https://lnkd.in/eUmDiyhc You don't have to wait until you get a job to improve or upskill on your basic skill. Using these other mtds, you have demonstarted: 1. versatility in Data source integartion and ETL 2. intermediate Power BI source connection skill 3. you understand robust analytics framework Talking about these skills and demonstrating them in interviews can also give you an edge. Cheers 🥂🥂 Happy Reading Please like, comment, share and connect for more data related content
