We had the opportunity to present at #XRAccess2024! This conference is very important to me, both personally and professionally, in terms of disability representation and advocacy. We had a chance to discuss the importance of accessibility of new technology for people in recovery, and how to situate that within the context of virtual reality. You can find the full poster in the "Featured" section of my LinkedIn!

Keynote Speaker, Writer, Trainer and Consultant committed to Slaying the #Ageism Dragon. ™️ Topics: Ageism | Reframing Aging | Creating Age-Friendly Workplaces | Benefits to Business & Brands of Being Age-Inclusive
#WalkingTheTalk That's what organizations like #SeniorCenters, Area Agencies on Aging, #SeniorLiving, advocacy groups and others serving #OlderAdults are doing when they seek out to be more #AgeInclusive. Last week, I was facilitating a workshop for a coalition of organizations serving #OlderAdults in Virginia. They reached out because a champion within the lead organization understood the importance of rejecting the #Ageist attitudes that permeate our culture (and therefore our own thinking and actions). They want to do all that they can to make their organizations not only more age inclusive, but also welcoming to their customers (yes, their customers!). And that, of course, will result in better outcomes for the older adults, and the organizations. Here's a simple checklist that I shared in the workshop, and then of course, we dove deeper into each. What is your organization doing to be more welcoming and inclusive? Happy to chat with you about it. Click on the Book me button in my profile.
