Driving and Financing Energy Investment in Ukraine 🇺🇦 | Corporate and Project Financing | Renewable and Traditional Energy | Young Energy Ambassador EU Cohort 2024
💡 Currently, more than 56% of Ukrainian power is being produced by nuclear power stations. However, Ukraine has enormous potential in the development of renewable technologies like solar, wind, and battery storage 🍂 By the end of 2024, DTEK will have about 1,000 megawatts of energy capacity from new #renewable #energy projects, with a budget of more than EUR 1.5 billion 💰 Our goal in bringing these projects to Ukraine is to convince investors that Ukraine is not just a war zone but also has much growth potential and projects can be implemented today ❇ MW-per missile destruction ratio is much lower for renewable energy, as compared to coal-fired plants. Renewable energy in #Ukraine is equivalent to physical energy security and we are investing in renewable sources today. 🏛 We understand that investors may be concerned about war risks, but we have solutions to mitigate these risks These and more topics were discussed by our CEO Maxim Timchenko with Bloomberg's Francine Lacqua.
