As we celebrate the 4th of July break, I am reflecting on how easily the democratic institutions and freedoms that were enshrined in the US founding documents can be eroded. What is happening in our socio-political environment is cause for concern and we must take a stand with our votes and our wallets to let our voices be heard. Enjoy the 4th, vote, do something nice for someone else.

What behavior can I demonstrate today in support of the freedoms we are still fighting for?

Pride month is so much more than rainbow hues in corporate logos and vibrant parades. It is a call for authenticity. A call to practice removing the masks we’ve grown accustomed to in order to conform to society’s expectations and instead experience what it could be like without them. For me, Pride is about intentionally reclaiming space and give ourselves permission to live out loud.  This is not an easy task in a world that often feels heavy, conflicted and dangerous. Pride month serves as the platform to express ourselves safely and hopefully realize that living authentically is good for us ALL YEAR LONG. May we create together a world where everyone can thrive authentically and love freely. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈

Let's not forget that we have a lot to fight for. Let's use our voice, our wallets and our votes to create the future we want. Happy Memorial Day weekend! #MemorialDay
