If you feel awkward or uncomfortable about adding calls to action to your posts this is for you……………… You’re standing by the side of the road with a flat tyre. You have no spare. A van full of brand new tyres drives up and stops. The driver of the van gets out and says “I can see you’ve got a flat tyre. That’s inconvenient for you. I know how to change a tyre and I’ve got a van full of spares” Then they get in their van and drive off. Another van full of brand new tyres drives up and stops. (what are the chances eh?) This driver gets out and says “I can see you’ve got a flat tyre. I know how to change a tyre and I’ve got a van full of spares. Would you like me to change it for you?” That’s the difference between having a call to action on your post and not having one. A call to action is an invitation to take the next step. It doesn’t have to be a “buy my thing” statement. It could be………… “Would you like more information?” “Is this important to you?” “Would like to know how I could help you?” “Would you like to find out more about this?” A call to action is an indication that someone is interested. It’s a signal. 🚦 Not a desperate plea for money. If you want to get your audience on a journey towards buying something you need to add calls to action. You need to give them some way to signal their interest. Otherwise you’re just highlighting peoples problems to them, getting them ready for the next person who WILL make them an offer.
