Best player 🥇of Italian #SerieA. Third leg The third matchday of the Italian championship comes to a close, and here are the top 10 players of the round according to our #PEI (Player Evaluation Index).⚽️📊 An exceptional performance by Torino and Equatorial Guinea player Saul Coco, who scored a goal in the victory for the Granata and delivered a fantastic performance according to all our metrics. A very versatile player, he was scouted in Spain by Torino’s management from Las Palmas. Another player from Torino in the rankings is Ilic, confirming the excellent form of the Granata. Jacson Tchatchoua from Verona takes second place with an excellent score of 64.2, though it’s not enough to surpass Torino’s Coco. Third place goes to Franck Anguissa of Napoli, who not only scored the winning goal for his team but also delivered an outstanding overall performance. Also in the rankings are Federico Gatti from Juventus, the revived Robin Gosens from Fiorentina, Beukema from Bologna, Ndicka from Roma, Barella from Inter, and Tati Castellanos from Lazio. For the record, the partial standings after three legs see Giovanni Di Lorenzo (new life under the management of Antonio Conte 😉) leading with 88 points, followed by Hakan Calhanoglu with 85, and Ivan Ilic from Torino with 84. #SerieA ⚽️ Our standing📊 after first half of the season. In the chart, along the horizontal axis, we have our Team Evaluation Index (expressed as an average since there are still matches to be played). On the vertical axis, the points achieved in the actual standings are represented. If the championship were to end today, our “virtual” title would be won by Inter, with Atalanta close behind. Napoli is slightly behind, but as Conte himself has said, his team is at its limit and has reached its maximum potential. To compete until the end, they would need to maintain an extremely high standard, which is possible but only without any setbacks (injuries, etc.). In fourth place, we find Juventus (currently fifth), while Fiorentina and Milan are tied for fifth (though actually sixth and eighth in the real standings). Lazio and Bologna follow closely behind. The Biancocelesti, in particular, seem to have achieved more real points than what is reflected in our index. At the bottom of the standings, Venezia, Verona, and Lecce would be relegated to Serie B. It is worth noting that in reality, only Venezia is currently among the bottom three. Monza and Cagliari (last and third-to-last in the real standings) would have deserved a few more points. Atalanta vs Juventus: - Juventus capacity to create dynamics and breakthrough Atalanta's man to man oriented marking. However, the dynamics around permitted a situation to exploit space in behind and situational 2v1 situation with oppose movements in a moment of defensive vs offensive transition. - Kalulu's movement, Koopmeiners off ball capacity to drag pair away and Mckennie's interpretation of spaces and play, allowed a fantastic positional play sequence. - Juventus remained to their principles in a 4-2 initial build up structure with low positioning fullbacks and double pivots. Atalanta: - their usual man to man marking was beaten by a constant movements and burst out actions in goal sequence. Despite of being organized, the risk of the man to man marking will always open up spaces for threatening sequences either in-behind, in intervals or central zones. This has been a 3rd time a time has been able to exploit with physical powerness players with technical and velocity in transitions. - In Juventus initial build up, Atalanta kept using a high block with coverage of pivots and high intensity in central zones - While in possession, Atalanta had superb sequences. One of them in a open play 3-1-4 build up structure. Throughout this momentaneous structure with center back Hien as situational pivot, created a 3v2 numerical advantage with De Roon (CDM) coming in intervals as the free man. The presence of wide players, allowed to keep their pairs in constant check and permitting such numerical advantage and progression in central. #ATALANTA #JUVENTUS #FOOTBALLANALYSIS #FOOTBALLTACTICS #MATCHANALYSIS #FUTBOLANALISIS
