Here are the three practices that I see the best clinicians around me doing that I think has led them to having and maintaining a full practice of cash-pay clients: 1. They've done—and might still be doing—serious, long term psychotherapy of their own with a clinician FAR BEYOND THEM in the field. 2. They regularly participate in CONSULTATION groups or 1:1 consultation with other excellent clinicians. Presenting your cases to other, smarter clinicians for feedback pays much bigger dividends than simply receiving a training. 3. They make very quality networking connections with a few rather than thin networking connections with many, allowing themselves to be known and thereby trusted.
