The ongoing crisis in Lebanon has left 809,043 civilians internally displaced (OCHA) and 795,025 refugees from conflict-affected states (UNHCR). Since 2019, Rise Up Humanity has been working closely with Syrian refugee camps in Northern Lebanon, implementing impactful projects that have supported thousands of displaced families. Today, they are partnering with a dedicated team on the ground to provide safe and warm housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugees—many of whom have fled the horrors of war and cannot return home due to ongoing threats. They have secured land and are ready to build essential tent structures made from wood and canvas, along with toileting and showering facilities. But they need your help. If 10 people donate $50, Rise Up Humanity can provide a family of 4 or 5 with everything they need to stay warm and off the streets. With winter approaching, many families are forced to sleep in cars or under trees, facing the harsh reality of cold nights. This initiative is led by Vice-President and co-founder, Tamara Sharifov, LCSW, MA, MS, an expert in psychotherapy, humanitarianism, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and global and international affairs. Afrikicks have made more than 1.6 million donations of food, clothes, educational, health, sports, and agricultural resources to rural, remote and poverty-stricken communities around the world. Widely recognized as an action-based nonprofit, Afrikicks hand-delivers and accompanies all humanitarian aid and resources to their respective destinations. Thanks to our Afrikicks supporters and network, we have gained unprecedented access and cooperation from local leaders, elders, and government to assist in driving outcomes of peace and socio-economic development at scale. AWARENESS: 300 million children are without shoes today, worldwide. We've donated over 330,000 pairs of shoes to date, and we're always counting. So far, Afrikicks has served in 10 countries, across 2 continents, and 5 regions, delivering life-changing aid and essential resources to West African, Sub-Saharan, Central African, North American, and Central American communities. We aim to protect children and young adults living in extreme poverty, crisis, and conflict, worldwide.

Today we are thrilled to announce €500,000 is being allocated to community groups across the island of Ireland, in the fifth year of the Begin Together fund, delivered in partnership with the Community Foundation Ireland.  Grants from €10,000 up to €80,000 will be distributed to 24 groups across the island of Ireland. Irish Refugee Council and Depaul Ireland have each been allocated €80,000 multi-year grants to help to fund longer term projects. The broad range of groups supported include those who are disproportionately impacted by some of the most critical issues in Ireland today.   Aine McCleary, Chief Customer Officer, Bank of Ireland, said: “Since 2020, the Begin Together Fund has been working with Community Foundation Ireland to help to make our society stronger by allocating funds to those in greatest need. This year, we have prioritised projects which build capability and foster inclusion among these under-served groups. We are delighted to allocate grants to a broad range of organisations including those supporting families living in poverty, people experiencing domestic abuse, older people and those experiencing homelessness.    “Along with 20 single year grants, this year, four multi-year grants will be awarded to organisations including Depaul and the Irish Refugee Council, who are working to support those most impacted by two of the most pressing issues we face in Ireland today. It is our hope that multi-year funding will allow these organisations some certainty as they plan to get these future-facing projects up and running.  We wish all the successful grantees well as they embark on their programmes”.
