the function of #gist: I had somehow missed this till today. The magnificent Gibran Huzaifah of eFishery had participated in the U.S. Department of State funded GIST Startup Boot Camp held in Jakarta, Indonesia on April 4 to 6, 2014. He came in 2nd place. The old news i picked up read, "The champion’s title at the GIST event was taken by #DreamBender, while the first and second runners-up were #eFishery and #Growbox respectively. The first winner was awarded US$3,000, the second and third winners won an iPad, and all the runners-up will get six months mentorship from GIST." And then some 9 years later.. Last year, #eFishery, #Indonesia officially raised USD$200 million in its Series D fundraising round, making it the first startup in the global aquaculture industry to reach a valuation of $1.4 billion. Exciting news! We are pleased to announce that we have been granted a patent in Japan for the use of Sophorolipids as a biostimulant to enhance drought tolerance. For the past three years, we have been researching the potential of Sophorolipids applied during irrigation to help plants withstand temporary water deficit stress. We believe that this technology can lead to products that reduce the frequency of irrigation, thereby lessening the burden on workers and conserving water.
