🚀 A rollercoaster of triumphs and challenges: Market statistics reveal, 90% of startups falter due to various factors. Yet, not every path leads to success. 📉 While capital deficiency is a primary concern, other crucial elements such as product-market fit, competition, team dynamics, product complexity, and founder burnout also play significant roles. 💡 Seeking insights into the realities behind shuttering a business, we sat down with three tech founders from CEE, Vasile Țiple, Adriana Ancuta, and Bohumil Pokstefl, who recently navigated this path. Attended a great event today headlined by the wonderful Allison Kaplan, Editor-in-Chief at Twin Cities Business, which was an insightful discussion of key opportunities, challenges, and hotbed questions facing the Minnesota business and entrepreneurial community this year. The mood feels hopeful. One of the themes Ali talked about was the incredible resource of the F500 and large enterprise leadership we have based here. I recently shared some of my learnings from our work at Bread and Butter Ventures and wrote about about 5 ways the corporate community can team up with the startup ecosystem to grow in this piece for Twin Cities Business: ⭐ Sponsor, support local events in the startup community. ⭐ Seek out opportunities to include startups and emerging businesses in your commercial work and partnerships. ⭐ Leverage startups to improve employee health and retention. ⭐ Engage the startup community through mentoring and feedback. ⭐ Invest in and acquire the next generation of emerging tech in your verticals as a means of growing your core business. More thoughts on each in the full piece: (thank you Ali for the opportunity!) https://lnkd.in/gKgpj42M #earlystagestartups #venturecapital #minnesota #innovation

When I speak with leaders of the Montreal tech community one of the topics that comes up often is how can we get more of our seed companies to growth… The next topic (somewhat predictably) becomes how do we get more capital to help our startups ramp up… but before capital you need product-market-fit and then a “predictable product-led or sales-led growth engine”. During that crucial seed to A and then post series A phase a company's culture changes radically. It is not easy to navigate hyper-scale (having tried at Bus.com)… often 5Xing the company's team size and potentially 10Xing ad spend, the sales team and customers to deal with. Outside of capital the key ingredient founders and investors are desperately looking for is talent (i.e. know-how) on how to trigger and navigate this crucial phase in a startup's journey I’m super happy to have 3 product leaders Laura Di Costanzo, Vahid Jozi, and Gabriella Hachem, who have each experienced the realities of going from pre product-market-fit to growth come share some of their know-how July 9th at TechTOgether MTL. The panel will be led by the one-and-only Alex Norman TechTO co-founder and managing partner at N49P Ventures. If you are a product/growth team member, startup exec, or investor in seed, seed-x, and series A startups this is a must-attend.

Think a business can grow without an additional support and team expansion? No matter where you are in your business journey, one thing's certain: without support, you might get stuck. Our startups succeed because they get lots of help—such as networking, mentorship, and access to funding. It really pays off in the long run. Here's the deal: Studies show that businesses without investors' help have a tough time. In fact, according to a recent survey, over 70% of startups without investor support struggle to grow beyond the initial stages, and many even shut down within the first few years. That's because without sufficient funding, many startups find it challenging to expand and scale their operations independently. Today, having a good team is a must to keep your business going strong. So, are you ready to get help, or are you still going it alone?

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆! Imagine a community where one of the members who has been a Brand CEO, D2C founder comes in and takes a master class for fellow community folks on how Venture Capitalists evaluate startups! Interesting, isn’t it? This is exactly what happened last Saturday, when our Being Consultant community hit a jackpot. We had Chirag Gada, a true industry expert, break down the art and science of startup evaluation. Chirag, with his years of experience scaling businesses and advising investors, gave us the real deal. He took complex VC thinking and explained it using consulting frameworks we all know. It was like getting a peek behind the curtain of the startup world. What blew me away? The energy in our group. Even with just a day's notice, everyone showed up ready to dive deep. The questions flew, showing just how hungry our community is to learn and grow. I can't thank Chirag enough for giving back to our community like this. It's not every day an expert of his caliber shares such candid insights. This is exactly why we started this community—no fluff, no polished pitches. Just real people sharing real experiences. We're all here to learn and grow together. Missed this session? Don't worry. We're always organizing events like these with industry leaders who believe in giving back. If you're passionate about learning from the best, come join us. Link in comments. Here's to more learning and growing together! #beingconsultant #communitygrowth #venturecapital #startupinsights #consultingcareer #learning
