One of the best parts about working for Health Advances in addition to working with great people (see below) on the industry's toughest issues is getting to live our founders' (Mark Speers Paula Ness Speers) values. Yesterday we got together on Founders Day to give back and volunteer at Cradles to Crayons - an organization that supports at-risk youth with school supplies and fights clothing insecurity. Coinciding with #WomensHealthWednesday - we know that young moms and children in the US are disproportionately low income. Did you know that 42% of all US births are financed by Medicaid? These moms tend to be younger than privately insured moms, they have higher rates of mortality, and babies born to moms on Medicaid have higher rates of low birthweight. https://lnkd.in/gGCgUD-v Helping support low-income children is inherently supporting #womenshealth. #healthequity
