#TheSouthAfricanEarlyChildhoodReview (SAECR) has brought attention to the alarming crisis of high child poverty and malnutrition rates. In the year 2022/23, there were approximately 15,000 hospitalized children suffering from malnutrition, and over 60% of them are under the age of six and live in severe poverty. Today is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Many of our services involve people who are in poverty: homeless people, those involved in substance abuse services, people fleeing domestic abuse, service users of our money advice team.
