2 Pearls of Wisdom on Keeping Our People in the Jewelry Industry from the late masterful Kate Peterson: 1) Understand you have a lot to offer. (context: your sales clerk may be able to earn $18/hour at Sonic, but that comes with a tight standard to put x # of burgers per hour in a bag; whereas, working in a jewelry store is daily and long-term fulfillment) 2) Get past the chain store mentality.
