Hearing from a parent like Alice Thomas that Marietta PAL reshapes a child’s life makes us proud. We know your organization cares about our community and its children as much as we do; we want you to be part of our next mission to keep providing opportunities for these children. Be one of the first businesses to join the Legacy Club, and impact today’s kids by building tomorrow’s legacy. Interested in learning more about the Legacy Club? Click Here: https://lnkd.in/gbie9aKe

The name Children's Legacy Partnership is always a mouthful! Back when I started the foundation finding a name that conveyed our vision was challenging. I wanted it to be short but it was hard to find a name that wasn't taken. After a lot of brainstorming the name grew out of what we hoped to accomplish. There are more than a few reasons why life here in Los Angeles is grand but one of them is the inspiration I get from the small but mighty non-profits that continue to make our city better. One is Public Matters, founded by Mike Blockstein and Reanne Estrada. If you want a break from the news cycle, have a look at this article titled "Conspiratorial Joy Lives Here."

Been thinking about the term “vision” this week as it relates to the strategic planning work I do with nonprofit clients. And what comes to mind for me (at least this week) is a rowing crew. Sharing a common purpose is inspiring and uplifting, but equally crucial is having a shared direction. Consider our nonprofit communities - all driven by the same mission to create positive change. However, achieving goals requires more than shared passion. We must also align on a shared destination, (or vision) for the not-so-distant future that can align our efforts and strategies, ensuring everyone is moving in the same direction. Just like a rowing crew that moves swiftly when every member is in sync, an organization thrives when every team member, volunteer, and supporter work together toward a common point on the horizon. Getting your community to row together, not just with a shared purpose but with a shared destination will help you actualize the future you want to create.
