A survey by Syracuse’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families found that 53% of active duty, reservists, National Guard, and veterans cited "educational benefits" as a key reason for their military service. Yet, year after year we are seeing a decline in these benefits. My husband is currently pursuing a second degree using the GI Bill, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. It’s troubling how often veterans face obstacles when trying to access their VA benefits—an issue that has persisted for years. I’m interested in hearing from others who have experienced similar issues: 1. Have you faced difficulties with accessing GI Bill benefits? 2. A new training course for military veterans in the Black Country is set to launch at the end of January. The Moving Forwards: Building a Brighter Future course is being delivered by The Recovery College and is open for registrations. It aims to equip veterans with the skills to understand the true impact of their military experience and to move forward in their recovery journey as a civilian. It will also signpost people to health and mental health support, employment and other services, as well as community groups and networks that may benefit them. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eex-8cBf
