The Recruit Parents Website Navigating Boot Camp for 20 Years https://lnkd.in/g-T2y-Xb We've been helping families understand recruit training (boot camp) for 20 years. We speak in civilian terms to help family members who are new to the military. For help navigating our website, use this map of pages on RecruitParents.com. '' I couldn't have gone through my son's 13 weeks in boot camp without the support and information right here on this website. I got 13 weeks of education, too. Thank you for teaching me how to be a Marine Parent! '' —Jill from Iowa, Marine Mom, 2007 Click for our website map... https://lnkd.in/gKat-JJR

❓ DID YOU KNOW ❓ According to MCEC, 8% of military children attend Department of Defense Schools. This is an extremely small percentage of military children. A much larger percentage of military children attend public schools. #graceofamiliarychild #militarychildren #militarychild #militarybrat #school #schools #elementaryschool #elementary #middleschool #highschool

I know all to well how stressful the transition can be when it comes time to the start of your educational journey. Especially, if it's in combination with your transition from military or move to somewhere new. Because of this, we have several upcoming orientations for any prospective military-affiliated students (active duty, national guard, reservists, veterans, spouses, dependents, and survivors). Let us help clear up any confusion around VA Educational Benefits or Military Tuition Assistance. Let's dismantle the myths surrounding access to Financial Aid. Get started early thinking about how to set yourself up for success to get to a 4-year university or to secure a career. All we ask is that your register for one of the events here: https://lnkd.in/g7hYeQBt If you're one of our current students who would just like a refresher, feel free to stop by the Veterans Success Center this Thursday, October 31st from 2 to 3 pm to chat with our staff. #StudentVeterans #SanDiego #CommunityCollege #Transition #GIBill

A survey by Syracuse’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families found that 53% of active duty, reservists, National Guard, and veterans cited "educational benefits" as a key reason for their military service. Yet, year after year we are seeing a decline in these benefits. My husband is currently pursuing a second degree using the GI Bill, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. It’s troubling how often veterans face obstacles when trying to access their VA benefits—an issue that has persisted for years. I’m interested in hearing from others who have experienced similar issues: 1. Have you faced difficulties with accessing GI Bill benefits? 2. Did you feel that the school managed and handled your GI Bill benefits effectively and provided adequate support as a veteran? 3. Do you have any tips, stories, or insights to share? Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences! #VABenefits #GIBill #VeteranSupport
