When Will I Know My Recruit's Platoon Number? An Article from our Founder, Tracy Della Vecchia https://lnkd.in/gMgu7Swx This is an important question because we can't send a letter until we get the platoon number. The address for each company is public knowledge, but mailing a letter without a platoon number causes big delays. The wrong platoon number causes even more delays. So here's the TOTAL scoop on this question. Recruits perform a close-order drill movement during a drill evaluation Aug. 24, 2015, at MCRD Parris Island. The Emergency Vessel Operators Course prepares Tulsa District park rangers to pilot U.S. Army Corps of Engineers boats and watercraft. Hutchinson Todd, assistant lake manager and EVOC instructor at Keystone Lake, talks about the lessons students learn in the course. New rangers and maintenance staff, must complete the 40-hour program to safely operate USACE vessels while performing their work. On day two of EVOC, new rangers learn to properly back boat trailers, proper maintenance of Type 5 personal flotation devices, safe operation of fire extinguishers and familiarization with the various vessels they’ll likely encounter and operate. They also learn and practice the most common nautical knots they’ll need for boat operations. On day three of the course, they practice navigating obstacles with each of the boats used at district lakes. Due to the variety of water-based duties, from boat dock inspections to emergency response, rangers learn to maneuver both fiberglass and aluminum boats through obstacles to develop proficiency. https://lnkd.in/gddVAr89 #boatsafety #boating #USACE #CorpsofEngineers #rangers #watersafety #operations #emergencyvessels #firstresponders

Find something that works, reduce it down to its simplest form, drill it..... repeatedly. By following this method, you give your students both the benefit of an effective suite of core skills that have been tried and tested, and a solid foundation upon which they can build, whilst simultaneously encouraging an environment of creativity and innovation. #securitytraining #marines #learninganddevelopment #HECPO #CPO #TRAINING

Never Underestimate The Benefits Of Drilling The Basics 🔄 💬 "We can't win, they keep on coming towards us, even though we are firing at them." During operations, reports consistently indicated insurgent commanders' surprise at the speed and effectiveness of coalition advances during close-quarter combat. These tactics disrupted the enemy's usual methods of defence and counter-attack. The intense fire fights and continuous forward movement over challenging terrain surprised the enemy, who were accustomed to more static engagements. 🎖️ Any veteran reading this will instantly recognize these tactics as the "Fire and Manoeuvre" drill, which is the bread and butter of any infantry soldier's role. This Tactic works on the ability to maintain forward momentum during a firefight whilst maintaining a heavy weight of fire towards the direction of the enemy. This works by reducing the enemy's ability to return fire thus giving the impression that our soldiers are both firing and advancing simultaneously as one body. This reinforced in us the benefit of finding something that works, reducing it to its simplest form, and drilling it endlessly. Each branch of the forces does this differently, adding and adapting as the environment dictates. Some will add a flank, while others will use copious amounts of smoke and go straight up the middle 😘 , but the fundamentals remain the same. 💨 At Special Projects Group Ltd., we incorporate this philosophy into our training, reinforcing the importance of drilling the basics to create a far more effective foundation upon which you can build. 💪 #CloseProtection #SecurityTraining #Veteran #HECPO #HostileEnvironment

DEVELOPMENT OF THE GSS: Part 3 The history of the US Army’s Grenadier Sighting System (GSS) is a remarkable story of collaboration between the US Army and the Wilcox Special Projects Team. In Part 1 & Part 2, we covered the US Army's search for a new 40mm M320 GL in 2009, their decision to choose the Wilcox GSS as the single production awardee in June 2019 and the GSS's initial production and discriminating features. In this final part, we'll cover the program's success and evolution. Read about the development of the Wilcox GSS in the 3rd and final part of our GSS Blog series. https://ow.ly/c2TR50Tq6Uq #Grenadier #GrenadierSightingSystem #Tech #Innovation #Integration #MILSTD810 #IS9001-2015 #SWaPC #DepartmentOfDefense #Government #GovernmentRequirements #Military #CuttingEdgeSolutions #GSS #RAAMGSS
