Baleària continues to expand its connections to Algeria with a new route, between Valencia and Oran, starting today (18 December).  Baleària now has three weekly departures to Algeria, and soon four. 1)   Valencia-Mostaganem (which has been operating since 2016) 2)   Valencia-Algiers (which began operating in October 2024) 3)   Valencia-Oran 4)   Barcelona-Algiers (starting 15 January 2025)   Competition is rising on the Algeria routes, with the traditional State-owned Algérie Ferries, Baleària, Naviera Armas S.A. and newbee Nouris Elbahr Ferries.

Port of Dover prepares for busier Olympic Summer Getaway alongside new EU border preparations 🛳 Ahead of the peak holiday getaway period, the Port of Dover announce their extensive Summer Getaway plans, working with their partners, ahead of what traffic forecasts predict to be a demanding summer period. ☀ Doug Bannister, Chief Executive of Port of Dover says: “Summer Getaways are always exceptionally busy periods for airports and ports alike as families set off on their holidays. Much like at airports, where processing time can be around 2 hours, the Port of Dover will see processing times that mirror this as we at the popular port of choice, with a quick route to the continent." 🌍 As well as having even more tourist traffic coming our way this year, we have the added challenge of having to implement our infrastructure works required by France and the EU to support the EU’s new Entry / Exit system due to go live in October. 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 | Last 18 September 2024, the ECCP Tourism Committee convened with guest speaker Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA - DOTC) Director II Atty. Maria Rowena Hubilla. At the meeting, the Committee learned about the overview of the maritime industry in the Philippines as well as the role of MARINA in promoting maritime tourism. Moreover, Atty. Hubilla discussed in more detail the rules and regulations surrounding the registration, licensing, and operation of shipping, boat, and dive operators, key areas of interest for ECCP members involved in the sector. Tallink Grupp's Ropax STAR Returns To Estonia And Starts Service On Paldiski-Kapellskär Route From 9 February 2025   ·     STAR, which is returning to Estonia from long term charter to Irish Ferries, starts operating on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route from Sunday, 9 February 2025. ·     Due to port service restrictions, only freight and car passengers. ·     The vessel will operate on an intensified schedule, alternating in the opposite direction to the schedule of the company’s cruise ferry BALTIC QUEEN, which sails between Tallinn and Stockholm. This ensures that ferry travel between Estonia and Sweden is again possible almost daily. ·     Before returning to regular service on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route, STAR will undergo the necessary renewal and preparatory work in dry dock at Naantali, Finland. ·     Will replace the vessels SAILOR and REGAL STAR, which previously operated on the route and will now remain on standby for future company decisions.
