We want to thank the Marin Community Foundation for awarding us a multi-year grant as part of its new Community Power Initiative. The impact of our collective work as a Partnership is evident in the improved outcomes we are seeing for students across the county. This funding is a testament to the power of our collaboration and will allow us to launch new projects and expand our current initiatives. One of the great projects I get to manage.
Funded with a $5.14 million state grant, I’m glad to see this project beginning soon. Residents in the Heather Lane/Lockwood Lane area in Norwalk will finally see some relief.

Check it out: an important reflection authored by EL Community member Andurina Espinoza-Wasil (and also featuring ELcommunity members Art Garcia, MPH and Kyle Rinne-Meyers). "Learning for evaluation purposes... is not a one-time event at the end of a grant period, but a powerful process that is ongoing... When we learn, we go beyond evaluation for the sake of it, or to answer discrete questions, to instead use evaluation and data of all kinds to improve effectiveness." https://lnkd.in/gSDBWyyd

Did you know public lands support K-12 public education in Oregon? At statehood in 1859, the federal government granted our new state nearly 3.4 million acres "for the use of schools." Today, approximately 681,000 acres of land across all Oregon counties are managed by the Department of State Lands with revenue contributing to the Common School Fund. Annually, 3.5% of the Fund is distributed to schools. The 2024 distribution of $74.2 million is the highest-ever distribution! To read more: https://lnkd.in/gvHdJvQM #publicschoolfunding #publiclands
