R&D Combustion, Energy, and CCS

Lots of talk around using Carbon free ammonia as fuel in gas turbines for power generation. Here some interesting results (we think...) stemming from the LowEmission Centre on combustion of cracked ammonia fuels at high pressure (as in gas turbines), in open access. The paper (https://lnkd.in/dC_gaCb9) highlights the NOx challenges, but also the benefits of operating under high pressure. We need however to further understand how far we can stretch that advantage, back to work... Inge Saanum

Liquid ammonia is dangerous enough when used in refrigeration systems. To use it safely as a fuel is utter madness. The farmers can’t use it but the power companies can? Madness
