Well, despite the image above, I'll immediately point out that when I talk here about "storytelling" I won't be dealing with writing, scriptwriting or screenplays at all (even if some of the more experienced will certainly recognize the typewriter model depicted, somehow very linked to the History of Cinema - the solution in the post). Storytelling is among what we have defined as the three pillars of character animation (along with Movement and Acting), the most advanced and complex, the one that really gives a final meaning to our work. As someone said, EVERYTHING in animation is storytelling. As usual, for those interested, on my weekly Lightbox. Eighteenth Article: "Storytelling, The Journey" - https://lnkd.in/dR59S8c7

One of my favorite parts about editing animation is the opportunity to temp in dialogue the writers come up with. This was for Clone High S02E07 “Spring Broken” when a zombie horde of desert people are yelling desert-related phrases. I’d record the “scratch” and then lay it all in and see how it plays. Once everyone signs off, the new lines are recorded by the voiceover actors which replaces the temp dialogue. #clonehigh #editing

Value Addition on storyboarding and scriptwriting. Learning and improving our storyboarding and scriptwriting skills in film production. A storyboard describes a film, video, commercial, presentation, etc. using art, words, and graphics. It helps all people involved in production understand how the project’s look and sound work together. #ArenaAnimationCGRoad #Storyboarding #Scriptwriting #FilmProduction #CreativeSkills #VisualStorytelling #Filmmaking #Animation #LearningJourney #ProductionTeam #NarrativeArt #CreativeProcess

Did you know that we do all aspects* of video creation? You didn't? Was it because I've yet to post any single mention of it online? Oh... my bad. Check out the storyboard and final video comparison below and I'll go have a long hard think about why I make too many assumptions. * Script > Voice-Over > Music > Storyboard > Style Frames > Illustration > Filming > Animation > Editing > VFX > Format > Subtitles > Render

As an aspiring film editor who enjoys watching animated movies and TV series, I'm exploring the art of editing animatics. Don't get me wrong! I love editing live-action content, but the topic of editing in animation has always fascinated me, and there's so little information out there. Luckily for me, 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 developed the 𝘈𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘌𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 course with Kerrin Kokot and Clea Mallinson (here's the link: https://lnkd.in/d98-Z7qY ). I found it very detailed and accurate, illustrating the process's different phases and exploring crucial editing themes, like timing and pacing, enhancing performances, and editing for different genres. Moreover, they provide storyboards, sound effects and music to experiement with, so I encourage you to take a look at it! Despite all the lessons being really useful for the current projects I'm working on, I believe one of them is the most important for further improving my edits: "𝑰𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖." Thank you, Triggerfish, for sharing such knowledge (for free 😍)! #animatic #animation #editing
