There is an urgent need to upskill teachers on latest pedagogical methods in India, yet the resistance from many school leaders and owners is extremely worrisome. School leadership usually prioritizes spending on infra or facelifting a school yet when one asks about teacher’s professional development, its never a priority. “Quality school teacher pedagogy is the foundation of quality education; for the level of education cannot rise above the quality of teachers” At Finland Education Hub we invite school leaders to join forces with us and help develop pedagogical skills among teachers.

🎙Matt Beaudreau and Tim Kennedy are changing the education system for the better. In this conversation Matt and I discussed Apogee Strong Academy, their mentoring program for young men. "Apogee's online mentorship program was created to provide you with the ideals young men need to become strong, successful leaders among leaders. The name Apogee comes from an astronomical term meaning "summit," a homage to the life we envision for each of our participants. A life where they have the tools they need to reach the greatest heights of their potential."

Experiential learning complemented by continuous reflective practices is elemental to a teacher's growth. Such methods enable a teacher to deliver lessons tailored for their students. Theory and pedagogical innovations are only worthwhile if followed by practice. Courses modelled on programmes like TYLEC by Trinity College London capitalize primarily on "Reflective Practices" to help teachers grow and promote a learner-centric atmosphere. With students, especially schoolgoers, growing up in a digital world capable of influencing them multifold with disseminations of a global nature, it is imperative that teachers be equipped to understand and circumvent challenges through reflective/experiential training.

This is actually a thing. Glad it worked out for the president of one liberal arts college, the one who is quoted. But after last week, perhaps the offerings should include: 1. What free speech really should mean 2. The new DEI — Dare (to uplift all), Encourage, Inspire — everyone at the expense of no one. 3. Crisis Management, including what to say and who to call if anyone tries to take over your office. 4. How to Testify Before Congress 5. How to Initiate a Sabbatical Program in Iran for faculty who support Hamas and a similar study abroad program for students who do the same. 6. Arts and Crafts: how to build your own moral compass. 7. Daily Phys Ed Program — Spine-strengthening exercises. 8. Why Donors from Totalitarian Nation States Might be Problematic. All suggestions welcome. The course offering provides an email address to which you might want to direct your suggestions. (As an aside, it would be great to see the actual curriculum and syllabus).

Educational Leadership, Author, Innovator | HighScope®Certified Trainer 🇮🇳| Teacher Development Coach, Expert in Active Learning, Innovative Educational Practices | Author| Nationally & Internationally Awarded Leader
⚠️ In certain educational organizations, leaders often hesitate to invest in training due to small-thinking concerns like potential teacher turnover, not thinking that the training given to them will help them provide the best for the time they are there. Moreover, some organizations compromise on quality by assigning responsibilities to individuals within the company who may lack authentic backgrounds in education or training. it is not only with teachers but also the administration or leaders in school. This oversight reflects a blind compromise on educational standards and a failure to prioritize #qualityeducation. Learners require great teachers more than fancy infrastructure. #QualityEducationInIndia #SaveLearners #TeacherEducation #TeacherDevelopment
