Some eighteen years ago I opened this LinkedIn account, so many of the people who follow me are not connected to the film world. Some of you will have even flown offshore to rigs with me, perhaps in Trinidad, Egypt or India! I wanted to introduce my producer Tim Willrich who has founded https://lnkd.in/eNthM7kw They already have projects with Netflix Asia and films winding up to shoot in Poland, Spain and Portugal. The screenplays I post about, when winning festivals? They are film prospects seeking active investors – and aware of the reputation around film investment, Tim has a plan (both vetted and approved by HMRC) to reduce risk and keep investors close to the journey of the work. Tim is the best producer I’ve had the fortune to work with, and we share the belief that great films, truly indelible films, don't need to cost the earth to shake it. If any of this has made you curious, let me know, and I’ll put you in touch with Tim. I'm excited about the future. #ukfilm #ukinvestment #film #ukhorror #genrefilm #taxcredit #investment #seis #creativeinvesting #privateequity

This success is a testament to the fact that Indian audiences are truly hungry for great content. When you deliver engaging stories, the audience shows their love and support in full force. **Key takeaway:** The relevance of the big screen is not only enduring but continues to grow stronger. All theses schemes. Free movies? Even at $20 a ticket movies are still the cheapest form of entertainment outside your living room. How about offering great films, great stories and a great experience you can’t get at home. Indie film can provide theaters the content they need, that people want to see, without bowing down to the Streamers whose only real objective is putting all theaters out of business. We make the movies people want to see. We always have. When the Studios, then the Streamers don’t have the guts to make anything original, indie steps in and saves the day. They are made by and for the audience the Streamers/Studios don’t understand. And with each new generation, new voices will emerge. Something the ones who hold the purse strings can’t create. Because they don’t create, they copy. A new time is coming for film. People want it. People need it. And only indie can provide it. And if we can’t find the money, we’ll find another way to do it. Here’s to the next wave. Indie Film Will Out. #indiefilmaking #indiefilms #horrormovies #supportindiefilm #invest #PsychWard #IndieFilmWillout

Film festivals serve as a launchpad for films, offering exposure, validation, and networking opportunities that can lead to licensing deals. Utilizing festivals as part of your distribution strategy can significantly enhance the commercial prospects of your movie. Beyond just commercial prospects, festivals provide an excellent platform for ✔Networking; allows you to connect with potential buyers and collaborators who might be interested in licensing your film. ✔Credibility and validation; as licensing agents often look for films with festival recognition as a sign of potential commercial success ✔Audience reception; positive feedback and reviews can create buzz and increase the perceived value of your film. ✔Festival specific opportunities; some film festivals host market sections or industry-focused events where filmmakers can pitch their projects directly to potential buyers. ✔Industry exposure; screening your movie at a festival increases its visibility among key players in the film industry. Remember, the film festival circuit is not only about winning awards but also about building connections and gaining exposure for your film, which can lead to licensing and distribution opportunities. Adapt your strategy based on the feedback and experiences you gather throughout the process; hopefully you might be on your way to building a track-record with your movie, both locally and internationally. #filmfestivals #distribution #film #content #ip #licensing #filmfestivals

Words become visual artefacts. A creative tension has always helped raise the game as wordsmiths want to outdo “image-makers” (film) and vice versa. One medium that just blew away the limitations of live action storytelling with a camera was animation. That dynamic has always pushed both constituencies (writers and filmmakers) to push for a greater outcome. We are working on Disney’s Snow White (see trailer below) with passion and great reverence. This is a story from the iconic Grimm Brothers from 1812 (story number 53). Given the times, I think it’s a great message to the world: “Vanity will not take you far, but kindness will”! The Disney film Snow White was produced in 1937 and most people may know this was the 1st ever animated film (cel animation) produced in the United States. It cost $1.5 million to produce and made $418 million in the box office. It allowed Walt Disney to acquire the property on which the studio stands even today and has had a significant cultural effect, resulting in popular theme park attractions, a video game , a broadway musical, and merchandise! The 2025 movie is yet another tribute to the legacy of this evergreen franchise. We at #MPC are privileged to be the VFX house (a part of the #technicolorgroup) and cannot wait for the March 2025 release, 93 years after the pathbreaking original. Please see the trailer (link below) which on day 1 crossed 5 million views. #birenghosespeaks

Maybe distributors can rationalize to exhibitors at next year’s CinemaCon that they are emulating 2018, the 3nd biggest summer in history with just 9 $100 million+ budget movies. But 2018 had Infinity War, not the launch of a new Marvel team in Thunderbolts. 2018 had a Jurassic World, but it was 1 sequel fresher as IP. There was a Disney animated film… from Pixar… but it was Incredibles 2, not Elio. There was even a Mission: Impossible there… but that was 2 films fresher. It’s true… Superman: Legacy and The Fantastic Four: First Steps could fully replace the box office of 3 Marvel films (Ant-Man 2 and Deadpool 2) and a Lucasfilm (Solo)…. perhaps even more than replace them.
