Pictured is M3 field engineer intern, Jorge Fuentes, checking off and organizing material deliveries at our Valley Natural Beverages project. "It is super important to make sure all of the material that we receive matches its corresponding packing slip so that it saves us time as well as catch any mistakes from the vendors early on. Us organizing material makes the field workers much more efficient, giving them the ability to just grab any material needed for its specific area," Jorge explained. We love to see our interns hard at work.👏👏👏 #M3Interns

Are you interested in an internship with the Department of Water Resources? Kazuaki Hatano, a DWR intern is nearing his completion of his internship and has a few words to share of his internship experience! "First of all, I wanted to thank Samantha Blackwood for the opportunity at DWR. I have certainly learned a lot about what the engineers do at the Department of Water Resources. Since I am an engineer major, it has really helped doing this internship. Simple things such as reading engineering maps, what the road to an engineer looks like, and understanding how meetings are held were just a few of the things that I have learned that really helps me stay motivated for continuing with my education in engineering. A lot of this program is more of what you want to get out of it. I always came in the office at least once a week to ask specific questions that gets me a better understanding of what an engineer does. It really helps with my future because not only is this good experience as a first-year student, but it also can really bolster my resume for the next school year. I also have learned a lot about the Delta Conveyance Project and some of the future opportunities that I can find further down the line."

Every day, our interns experience the power of our decentralized, entrepreneurial culture through their division experiences and the opportunity to participate with our employee resource groups. Sriya Garde, an electrical and computer engineering master’s student at the University of Colorado Boulder and an electrical engineering intern at ITW Food Machines wanted an internship that trusted her to be involved in real work. Through her internship, she has experienced ITW’s entrepreneurial culture through being empowered to engage in the product development process. Q: Why did you choose to intern at ITW? A: I sought an internship where I could engage in product development, from ideation to implementation and manufacturing. During my interview, I learned I would be working on new features for Hobart Mixers and Slicers, which excited me about interning here. Additionally, ITW’s reputation as a Fortune 200 company known for engineering reliable, safe, and durable systems made me eager to be part of its culture. Q: What has been your most enjoyable intern experience this summer? A: While I’ve enjoyed working on innovative projects and collaborating with incredible people at FEG, my top experience has been being a part of the Young Professionals Network (YPN). The events and initiatives organized by YPN are not only fun but also provide excellent networking opportunities with other young professionals at various stages in their ITW careers. This involvement has made me feel connected to a larger community and aligned with those on a similar journey. Q: What has been one of your biggest takeaways from your internship so far? A: The biggest takeaway has been hands-on experience with product development, particularly from an embedded perspective. Working from the ground up on a new feature for a product has been a valuable learning experience. This role has allowed me to explore, implement, and learn from my ideas, giving me a deep understanding of how systems work and the intricacies of the new product development lifecycle. I have gained critical skills and knowledge that are invaluable in understanding the practical applications of my coursework. #ProudToBeITW

From intern to career: Anthony Wyrick, P.E. shares his journey with H2E. “As an intern, I was here to learn about the company and see the inner workings of this sector of industry. H2E provided an excellent opportunity for me to glimpse into the life of being an engineer in their company. I was not here to merely get coffee or make copies, they allowed me the opportunity to be involved with the design process, learn the information that is not taught in school, and get my hands on some real-world experience. After a year of internship, it was only too easy to accept the job offer as graduation approached and feel confident that I would be satisfied with my new career.” Ready to embark on your own journey?
