founder, at National Farmland Trust protecting farmland for food production / countryside for wildlife habitat
Who thinks food is grown by supermarkets, ? Its no more grown by supermarkets than it is by farmers, Yes, farmers work hard to plant the seeds, tend the plants, gather the harvest, care for the livestock, but they do not grow the food, that is down to the farms, the fields, the soil, the earth, without which there would be no use for farmers, our crops require the soil, to provide the nutrients required to sustain life and grow, just as we require food, which is why farmland must be protected, if we want to continue to eat real food, grown in fresh air, with sunlight and rain, Not some factory produced substitute, nationalfarmlandtrust.org

8moThe needless erosion of soil, the excessive reduction in variety, nutrition and natural habitat loss - so much wrong with the way we farm today. Bring back small holdings - get people back on the land! So far away from the natural world we have come that we all need re-wilding!
