The implications of this lawsuit have very interesting ramifications, not just in algorithm-driven pricing in the CRE market, but perhaps in the economy more broadly. Most institutional owners know the benefits of these softwares in driving intelligent pricing decisions for rents— it’s hard to think of many LPs out there who don’t see the upside it utilizing services such as RealPage or Yardi. How this will shake out could have widespread effects on the industry overall. Something to track closely.
