As an elevator consultant, I see parallels between elevators and career growth. Just like an elevator, a career needs regular maintenance and updates to function efficiently. Skipping routine checks might lead to unexpected breakdowns. Regular learning and adapting are key to a smooth and successful career journey. Remember, in both elevators and careers, what matters most is not just the speed of ascent, but the reliability and quality of the journey #wednesdaywordsofwisdom

Many of us will make career decisions that will have others questioning our decisions. Don’t let the fear of judgment stop you from pursuing the pursuits you want to pursue. When I made a career decision to change employers, some two years ago, I did so with the intent of adding value to the organization, enhancing my skill sets, and for the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment. State-of-the-art equipment like the TAC32T elevator controller 🤓 It’s an incredible elevator controller, agree to disagree 😉 Though I still have a lot more to learn about the controller and its many features, my first hand experiences with it over the last two years affirms my decision to take leap and make a career change. Like I mentioned earlier, don’t let the fear of judgment stop you from pursuing the pursuits you want to pursue. 😊 There’s a lot to learn so Get After It!!! 👊🏽 #yourelevatorpal #elevators #skilledtrades #careers #careeradvice

Taking 1 Step Back to Take 2 Forwards ⏭⏭⏭ Have you ever done this? As we all climb the career ladder, the norm is to move jobs for a better role that's paying more, right? But sometimes, it also pays to take a 'sideways' step to push forward. It might be that you take a similar level role to what you're doing now, in order to bag that bigger role once you've proved yourself with your new employer. It might feel wrong or like a wasted move but as long as the next role is in sight and laid out from the off. The go for it! 👍 Just make sure it is all agreed and planned out with your new manager. I hope this helps. #progression #facman #maintenance #recruitment
