Aspen forests are often composed of clonal colonies, meaning that the entire grove is essentially one organism. This unique characteristic allows you to immerse yourself in the symphony of an entire forest, which is actually the harmonious sound of a single tree. Hear it: https://lnkd.in/gCaiA7qG #sounddesign #GameAudio #fieldrecording

This video is the epitome of why I started Treecycle back in 2020. A tree, planted and grown in the garden of Greg and Dianne had to be taken down in order to make way for their next new home. Rather than having it destroyed they had it carefully taken down, milled and now graces the front room of the spectacular new property. If you need to save some timber feel free to get in touch. https://lnkd.in/ey9Xpq9B <iframe width="930" height="523" src="https://lnkd.in/enrpfkMp" title="The Eternal Beech" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

In this research by the Florida Atlantic University & funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Team imaged the internal architecture of each vertebra of the thresher shark and the mineral structures found in the calcified cartilage by using Bruker micro-CT instruments. The aim was to understand the mechanisms behind the thresher sharks' vertebrae that allow its machete-like tail to be used to slap and stun prey, allowing it to swallow multiple fish in one fell swoop. These images help the Team understand exactly how the shark's unique catapult system works. Link: https://lnkd.in/dVCfNCfd #Bruker #MicroCT #PreclinicalImaging #Shark
