Surprisingly, Labor Day celebrations haven’t changed that much since 1882, when 10,000 or more New York City union members marched from lower Broadway to the Upper West Side and then partied in a nearby park for eight hours. The urge to celebrate our work and its impact may be timeless, even as the nature of work itself has changed so much over the centuries. What intrigues me most about this is how individuals and employers recognize the value of work—and how organizations and teams ensure that this value is created and sustained. Of course, there are many things that make a job fulfilling, including a fair salary, peer and manager engagement, career development opportunities and a positive culture. Every day, though, I am more convinced that there is something bigger that people seek when they want to be and do their best in their jobs. On our large team, there is a collective drive to connect to a shared purpose: to help all people have access to innovative life-saving and life-enhancing medicines. I am inspired every day by the energy and expertise—the labor—that I see, across our organization, as we work to fulfill that purpose, reimagine medicine and bring meaningful help to people in need. Happy Labor Day everyone. #LaborDay #sharedsuccess
Well put Mark…enjoyed reading this - enjoy the weekend
Well said, Mark. When we feel our work has greater meaning than just a "job," we bring and apply our best selves to every situation!

1yCouldn't agree more, Mark. I saw the dedication and drive first hand when I had the opportunity to work with you and the Market Access team, still to this day it was one of the coolest experiences of my career. I cannot believe it has been 5 years already! Cheers to you and wishing you and your family a very happy Labor Day.
