MYC and friends supported Adams 12 Five Star Schools and their Foundation today at their Top Golf Tournament. What a beautiful day and the foundation had 370 people attend. Congrats on a great event and for raising much needed funds to support students.

#TuesdayTips: It is almost time for school to be back in session. But not everyone is ready. Some kids and some classrooms do not have the things they need in order to succeed. Why not set up a donation station at your community to support the local schools your residents attend. Another idea would be to have a student supply closet on site where students can come to you and either grab items like pens and notebooks or check out items like scientific calculators and other costly supplies. Let’s help the kids that surround us get the most out of their education while engaging our teams and residents in giving back to the surrounding area. #backtoschool #propertymanagement #residentretention #multifamilymaven

Talk to me about money... not just generically, but, money that helps kids have the times of their lives on school trips. Next week I'm supporting over 200 EVC's and school leaders at EVOLVE Advice's National EVC Conference. At the event, I'll be talking to delegates about ways to plan effectively for school trips, with finances as the core focus. I KNOW there are pots of funding out there at the moment, but, I also know that there are businesses out there that do great things to support young people to ACCESS these visits. Are you one of them? TELL ME in the comments below what your offer is, how do you support school visits, do you have secret sales, offers, bursaries, scholarships, discounts or grants available? Please share with any businesses, organisations, trusts and charities who you know can make it onto the list, so I can share this knowledge with our schools.

Helping parents earn college degrees has an undeniable impact on their earning potential, their kids, and their communities. When I lived in DC, I became part of the Generation Hope community—providing mentorship and tuition support to teen parents striving to graduate from college. When I moved to California, I was able to continue providing scholarship funds while another amazing volunteer took over the mentoring role. Now there are more Generation Hope scholars who have earned their degrees and want to become mentors themselves. They just need partners to provide the tuition support. Could that be you? Every dollar we raise through this fund goes directly to supporting scholarships for Scholars and allowing us to recruit and support mentors who are committed to their Scholars but aren't able to provide funding. We are raising funds for both DC (https://lnkd.in/gCBuWBcB) and New Orleans (https://lnkd.in/gA_-gMGs). DM me if you want more info on my experience with this incredible organization. #socialimpact #highereducation

Public colleges and universities are higher education institutions that are mainly funded by state governments. In contrast, private colleges and universities rely more heavily on student tuition fees, alumni donations, and endowments to fund their academic programs. Private colleges can be either for-profit or nonprofit. For-profit colleges are run like businesses and are most concerned with generating a profit, while nonprofit private colleges focus on providing students with a quality education. As a result, nonprofit colleges generally boast better reputations than for-profit schools. crd.

I Collaborate with Coaches, Teachers and Administrators to RAISE and KEEP more funding than ever before!
ATTN: The School Year is almost here. One thing is clear- "Dollar amounts represent real opportunities that kids can benefit from." There has never been more of a need to raise and keep more funding in todays climate and market. The problem: Lack of transparency in how much your program receives as well as too many high fees. Something isn't right and you can feel it in your gut. Bottom Line: Your program deserves more, your students deserve more, and we can give you an awesome fundraising experience without having an end of fundraiser recap meeting deciding on a percentage to take away (15, 20, 18.898756%- we eliminate this and know its painful). With Schoolfundr, this doesn't happen because your kids don't deserve a huge piece of the pie to be taken away... How is this possible? Would love to share with you... Finally, the last lesson I’ve learned as a young professional fundraiser in higher education is to have fun and be detailed oriented. My mentors mentor used to say it’s not truly fundraising if it’s not fun! Anyone can ask for money but not everyone can ask in the right way. That’s what I love about the craft! Where data and art collide! #professionaldevelopment #careerlessons #fundraising #fun #details

Where’s all that money coming from? 👇 Here’s what you need to know: Many non-profit colleges have these things called ENDOWMENTS 💰 It’s money received largely from donations. And there’s 2 main reasons endowments have grown so much: Firstly - Donations. Often, donations come from wealthy alumni. These donations can be directed towards things like scholarships, infrastructure, or helping low-income students. And a big reason endowments of major colleges are so large? Simply because these colleges have been around for ages. That means more alumni to chip in to the endowment pile. But also, Endowments are INVESTED 📈 And often, the more established colleges, with larger endowments, have better access to private markets: Like hedge funds, private equity, etc. There’s a lot of controversy around endowments. Some people think it’s a great tool for colleges to maintain their operations self sufficiently. Others criticize it as a system that promotes elitism. What do you think of the college endowment system? Comment your opinion on the system. #financeeducation #endowment #harvarduniversity #finance101 #learnfinance #investingeducation #personalfinancetips #ivyleague #financialliteracy101 #financialeducationmatters #learnaboutmoney #moneylessons #investingforbeginners
