Thinking of starting a cosmetic brand, or looking to launch product in the UK or EU? Here's a cheat sheet for you. 1. You'll need to assign a Responsible Person. You can nominate a specialist third party such as COSMESURE to look after all your compliance needs. The Responsible Person is the party that is liable for all matters of compliance and product safety. 2. Each formulation will need to be compliant for the market, down to the SKU level. Don't assume that the rules are the same for the UK and the EU. The regulatory frameworks are quickly diverging. 3. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date PIF with CPSR. The national competent authority can request this at any time, so be prepared. 4. Ensure that your artworks are in tip-top shape and every aspect has been assessed for compliance. 5. Notify products, watch out, you can be fined thousands for selling products are are not registered. 6. Operate a cosmetovigilance system to record, trend, and analyze safety information. If you're struggling with the requirements of the Responsible Person reach out to COSMESURE for a quick chat by contacting info@cosmesure.uk. https://lnkd.in/eCYUTZJB #Cosmetics #CosmeticCompliance #Compliance #ResponsiblePerson #COSMESURE

#Cosmetics101 Safety Assessors: The Gatekeepers of Cosmetic Product Safety A Safety Assessor's (SA), role is to evaluate the safety of cosmetic products before they are placed on the market. This is a critical responsibility, as it ensures that consumers are protected from harmful products. Safety Assessors evaluate cosmetic product safety by considering the product's composition, characteristics, and use, as well as the toxicological profiles of the raw materials. Based on their review, Safety Assessors make a statement on the safety of a cosmetic product and provide any necessary warnings or instructions, along with a scientific explanation of their conclusion. Safety Assessors play a vital role in protecting consumers from harmful cosmetic products, allowing them to use them with confidence. 🔍💼 Documenting Compliance in Cosmetic Manufacturing🔍💼 In the world of cosmetic manufacturing, ensuring product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance is paramount. Documentation and record-keeping play a pivotal role in this process, providing a comprehensive picture of adherence to standards. Here's a deep dive into the documents crucial for cosmetic factory inspections: 📋 Production Processes Documentation: Detailed SOPs, batch records, and production schedules are the backbone of manufacturing. Inspectors scrutinize these documents to ensure they're current, accurate, and compliant with regulations. 🔬 Quality Control Procedures Documentation: Robust quality control measures are imperative for product consistency. Inspection of sampling plans, testing protocols, and acceptance criteria for raw materials, in-process, and finished products ensures adherence to safety standards. 🧪 Product Testing Records: Every test conducted throughout the manufacturing journey is meticulously recorded. Inspectors verify these records to ensure accuracy and thorough investigation of any deviations or out-of-spec results. 📦 Batch Records: Each batch's story is told through meticulous records detailing materials, processing steps, and deviations. These records not only ensure compliance but also provide a roadmap for traceability. 📑 Supplier Documentation: Documentation from suppliers is crucial for verifying compliance with regulatory requirements. Certificates of analysis and compliance ensure the quality and safety of incoming materials. 🗂️ Complaint Handling Records: Customer complaints, returns, and adverse event reports are carefully documented and investigated. This documentation ensures prompt action and continuous improvement in product quality and safety. 🎓 Training Records: Properly trained personnel are key to maintaining compliance. Documentation of employee training on SOPs, quality control procedures, and safety protocols ensures a knowledgeable workforce. 📝 Regulatory Compliance Documentation: Permits, licenses, registrations, and product notifications form the backbone of regulatory compliance. Inspectors ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate, leaving no room for error. By meticulously examining these documents, inspectors gauge the overall compliance of cosmetic manufacturing facilities. Through this scrutiny, areas for improvement are identified, paving the way for enhanced safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in cosmetic products. #CosmeticManufacturing #QualityControl #RegulatoryCompliance #DocumentingCompliance #CosmeticIndustry #FactoryInspections #ProductSafety #LinkedInPost

There’s nothing noble about shutting down a production line, rejecting product, or delaying production in general due to a preventable issue. Many Quality Inspectors I’ve worked with seem to have a belief that shutting down the line makes them a hero. It doesn’t. Sure, shut the line down temporarily if there’s an actual reason like fill weight/volume is low, container sealing is inconsistent, etc. If you shut the line down because: -the wrong label version was pulled -turns out your bulk actually wasn’t released -yOu DoN’t LiKe HoW tHe BoTtLe LoOkS These are preventable Quality failures. Period. 9/10 times I was told the line was down was due to a Quality Inspector overstepping or acting like a hero for realizing they messed up and the line never should’ve been authorized to run in the first place. Wrong label got pulled? That’s on you and there should be a consequence. Bulk wasn’t released and you caved to the pressure of Production to get started? Lame. Consequences should be had. You shut the line down due to some personal preference the customer doesn’t care about? Get outta here. If you shut down lines for any of these reasons, you shouldn’t feel like a hero. Instead, you should look for another job because odds are, your days are numbered. We are here to ENABLE Production to run SAFELY and in COMPLIANCE with applicable laws and regs. We are not here to impose our personal preferences upon customers unwilling to pay for an impossible level of Quality. #quality #manufacturing #cpgindustry #beautyindistry #consulting

“We’ve signed up to use 1 Agency for the next X months / years” said the client… Pro’s - Build a solid relationship - no competition so one funnel of candidates Con’s - “Typically” they’re generalist and will struggle with niche requirements - They get lazy / complacent - Competition drives accountability to deliver (especially for us sales folk) - what happens if they’re not delivering - then where do you go? IF you’re getting frustrated with this scenario as a Hiring Manager, I can understand the premise to use one agency however, as per several of the roles we’re devliering on currently - it’s because of the reasons above! Happy to have a chat with any Medical Affairs hiring managers in this situation - always feels greater proving there is top quality profiles out there! 👌
