Common sense!
My favourite topic - "what is common sense". It divides the audience, leads to even more arguments but also helps us to understand each other.
I'm of the opinion that there is nothing like common sense. We tend to use it, to call it "common sense" to justify our view, our opinion, our experience with particular topic (hence the confirmation bias) or our actions.
Why do I bring it here? I was picking up my rented car at one of the European airports last week and in the lift they had those weird numbers of floors. Five and half? Six and half?
It does not make sense, I told my self. The common sense is to use only integers (whole numbers) but then I stopped, got out and started understanding the logic. Yet again, I've reminded myself, listen first, think, ask questions before you start judging by applying your common sense.
What do you think. Is there common sense?
