Did you know? #3: Top 10 boat names A star? A Greek God? A lexical amalgam with the kid’s names? A spoonerism? Baptizing a boat is not an easy job! Whatever the name you will choose for your ORC, keep in mind the right rules below: 1) It is not necessary a unique name. As shown below, many boats have the same name. Only vessels of more than 24m need to have a singular name. 2) It must be written on the stern of your boat, with your home port. 3) It should be easy to state, repeat or spell on the VHF : whether you are approaching a marina or call the rescue, you’ll be happy to be understood! Here is the list of the top ten most frequent boat names in France last year: https://lnkd.in/gWCZz-S6

Achar Ke Vichar - Lions v/s Flies If people are criticising your efforts, then this story is for you. Flies are flies. They don't spare anyone, not even the king of the jungle & these flies bother the king, especially when he is just sitting & doing nothing. But lions are just not bothered about them. They will simply lift their tail occasionally, swing it this way or that way, to make the flies, fly away & then just forget about them. Just imagine, what will happen if a lion decides to teach a lesson to these troublesome flies by trying to catch them & then kill them. Obviously, firstly he will have to forget that he is a king, instead he would need to act like a monkey & then just run after these flies to catch them & kill them. Sometimes, this is what exactly happens in our lives too. There are so many small things (flies) happening in our life & bothering us & what do we do? We forget as to what our life goal is,instead we start wasting our time & energy on them In the end, we miss our goal, reach nowhere & finally collapse out of frustration. Remember, these flies bother the lion, only when he is lying dormant. Therefore, remain fully active, focused on your goal & these small problems will stop troubling you & you will be able to realise your main Goal. And finally – note that Lions never bother about the flies. #acharkevichar

Ahoy, matey! Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. For those who need extra help, I've found a guide for landlubbers on how to be a pirate. In addition, here are some vocabulary words you could use today to celebrate: Ahoy! – Hello! Arrr! – Can be used as an expression of agreement, excitement, or just to punctuate your sentence. Aye! – Yes. Aye Aye! – I'll get right on it. Avast! – Stop or pay attention. Ye – You. Me – My (as in "Me hearties" or "Me ship"). Matey – Friend or fellow pirate. Shiver me timbers! – An expression of surprise or disbelief. Landlubber – Someone who isn’t a sailor (a non-pirate). Scallywag – A rascal or troublemaker. Exaggerate your words by growling your R's. For example, “Treasure” becomes "Trrreasurrre!" And deepen your voice to sound a little rough around the edges...like you’ve been shouting orders at sea for years. (Beware: All scallywags who do not participate should be prepared to walk the plank!) ;)

Wake the f**k up! So many things we do on a daily basis or as a routine part of our life have hugely negative consequence for the planet. Maybe we should ask TWO questions every time we part with our money: How much does it cost? Is this OK? It’s a simple ‘cover all’ question that when applied by a large number of relatively intelligent people, could make a difference to the world we live in? TAIJI HUNT UPDATE: This footage from last Saturday captures the last moments of five bottlenose dolphins in their ocean home before they were stolen for a lifetime in captivity to entertain tourists. 💔 Footage 🎥 Kunito Seko (from the hunt on 21st September 2024)
