Over at Preloved Sports CIC, we are seeing an increase in the number of race companies donating their used / dead stock to us. We have normally taken these in free of charge so we can resell, repurpose or redistribute to those in need but the majority of stock cannot be resold. There is something in the pipeline where we can rebrand this stock but there is no guarantee we can do that as these event tees are covered in printed logos / branding. We’re left with redistributing the event tees to charities or organisations who help those in need. This comes at a cost which we don’t pass on as these organisations are also not-for-profit and have their own costs / overheads to cover. To give you a little insight on the costs, I have given three examples of the last donations from companies. • 5,300 tees received from a large UK company. It cost us £250 to redistribute these. • 550 tees received from a UK race company. It cost us £60 to to redistribute these • 125 tees received from a fitness company, costing us £20.62 to redistribute From my understanding, businesses have to pay to dispose of their waste and I realise if we charge too much, companies will dump these event tees into the landfill which we want to avoid. I’m wondering if anyone has a pricing structure we can use for charging companies a reasonable amount for taking care of their excess / dead stock? This charging structure wouldn’t be for profit as we just want to cover our costs of redistributing these tees. Re-Action Kitsquad CIC

If we don't clearly ask for the sale, it gives off a vibe of weakness, making customers feel like we're asking for charity instead of offering something valuable.
